The Olympic trials may be both sports most talented meets in the respective sports.

I think it's the track team, but US Swimming is probably just as deep.

Track. If you're a freestyler you only have to finish top 6 to make the relay team and you have multiple events with more opportunities.

Ledecky was swimming the 800 through the 100. That would be the equivalent of Galen Rupp running the 400

US track takes top 6 in 100 also for the relay. Depends on who makes the 200 though.

I'm not sure how many 400 runners they take.

If you're a freestyler you only have so many events. A sprinter only does the 50/100, maybe the 200 if they aren't a full sprinter. You're a bit off.

Not many people can do more than that.

Track, and it is not even close. It is so much harder to even make the trials.

They take 6 not just 4 in track due to prelims and to save guys for their primaries.

It's why the relay teams are so bad. Ever since they stopped focusing on relays after Clive Hart retired it's been comedically horrible.

Swimming. There are several times where 3rd in the Trials would have medaled in the Olympics. I remember the men's 100 Back in 2008 where the top eight all would have medaled. The United States dominates Swimming at a much higher rate.

Swimming... I've yet to see track dominate in the fashion swimming does. We get over 1/3 of our medals. Last night a guy didn't make the team and is a current top 5 in the world.

Rupp may not win the marathon but he will destroy the 10 k if it's humid.

Lmao at the 1 arm official trying to make Rupp not see Salazar

And Ledecky will be the greatest female swimmer of all time when her career is over. She is the exception, not the rule

Most people only have a legit shot and its in 1 race
