I put in a waiver request for Smith in my fantasy league. So if I manage to get him, expect him to disappear immediately.

When I saw him at Pahokee High School back in the early 2000s, I thought he was the greatest Florida highschool runningback of all time that I had ever personally seen (to young to remember Emmitt). He got something like 40+ rushing touchdowns his senior season. I thought he was gonna be a Heisman lock at FSU. If youtube and game film would of been a big thing during that time, he would of put Noel Devine's highschool highlights to shame.

Since when? He has shown nothing so far in the regular season. Its more likely that he will run into the back of an offensive lineman, than him gaining meaningful yards. He has shown absolutely no vision during his time on the field.

The kid is 19 carries into his rookie season. He was a smart back at FSU. The game is much faster in the pros. Give him a chance to adjust.

Yep. I remember how excited I was when he committed to FSU.

Running back is probably the easiest position to transition to in the pros. Could he get better? Yes, definitely, but if you take out his one run of 24 yards, he is averaging 2.7 yards per carry.

He is not "good." He does have some potential, but there is a difference in the two. Personally, I dont see him anything more than a COP back.

I feel like that's just his role. Some players thrive in that

Percy Harvin is a bad man with the ball but he isn't an every down player because that's not his role.

Same with Hester. He's dirty in the open field but that doesn't make him an every down player that deserves 10 targets a game.

And Sproles. Can you imagine Sproles getting 25 carries a game

I agree they should give him a shot but I'm not sure Smith would be that productive

Trent was always a physical freak of nature.
At Alabama, dude could benchpress over 400 pounds at 5'8" 190 lbs.

When he went to Cleveland, I figured it just took him a while to understand the offense.

To be honest, I'm surprised he stayed on the team this long. He has been with an NFL team since 2011 and has sucked quite a bit. I'm glad to see him making a great living.

Wait, we talkin' bout the same guy?

Seriously though, I've never heard if Smith. Not even when he was in college(I'm kinda forced to hear about college kids around Florida). From what I googled, dude is a physical specimen though.

Trent, I didn't mean to make a joke out of you :/ You're my favorite Alabama player and I hope you're happy and kick arse in the NFL and whatever else you do in life.

Did you watch the game yesterday? 2nd and 10 in the 4th qtr and we run a draw with SJax

Bucs fan here, run S Jax all day

Seriously though, I'd expect NFL coaches to know better, but SJ still looks like a fricking monster. It has to be hard not to let that man get his touches, even though he's washed up. I will say, he seems like a perfect leader.

Rogers is tricky too. Guy sometimes looks like a more physical Sproles, but obviously doesn't produce like him.

He's been with us for a while because of how well he performed on STs. I remember his recruitment in high school when he broke his mother's heart by going to FSU instead of Miami. Pretty positive he was a 5*. Never panned out in college like it was thought he might, but had a decent little career.

I've been more surprised by his recent success than by our coaching staff not giving him a shot to carry the ball for the first 3 years of his career. This is both extremely unexpected and mind boggling. It's past time to give him more touches.

This is a Trent Richardson situation

Dmitrioff forcing Mike smith to play sjax over smith to justify his stupid decision to sign him

No NFL coach would be ignoring smith like this

A.smith is a terrible pass blocker. If we were to keep him in the game for more than what he already is then we would see even more blitzes attacking his side of the ball. The OL is already bad as it is so we can't afford to have an even weaker pass block.
