The report from Bob Raissman of the New York Daily News that Tom Jackson will leave ESPN provided some wiggle room for the veteran analyst to return to Sunday NFL Countdown for what would be his 30th season. Multiple industry sources tell PFT that the decision has been made: Jackson won’t be coming back.

Yet Chris Berman's Corpse remains employed.

This is Berman's final year of his contract. He's gone as well

Should have been awhile ago really. Once they lost their hold on the post3pm game highlight show I stopped watching all of their NFL stuff.
The old highlight show was the shite though

sounds like he had the option to do one final season with Berman, but opted not to

NFL prime time was probably the first thing I ever really loved about sports.

That music is great.

after a Saints W I'd try to catch as many airings as possible

Man I remember being glued to the TV for primetime. Back when berman still had it.

good... he was just the old dude at the desk, at this point... and with Berman out next year, if they can shorten the shite just a little bit, maybe it'll be watchable again... i mean, it's 2 hours long now, but with all the commercials it feel like less content...

Those songs made the highlights seem bigger than life.

nothing better than a Gil Fenerty highlight running down the sideline against the LA Rams to that tune.

NFL Primetime was GOAT status. Berman gets a ton of hate on here, and rightfully so in most cases, but Berman/TJ on Primetime was the gold standard of highlight shows
The NBC show now is a joke. It's like 2 hours long and has maybe 15 seconds of highlights for each game. The rest of the time their Hollywood Squares panel talks about concussions, PSI of footballs, domestic violence in America, and other bullshite

Me too
Of course we'd always get the crappy 30 second segment with Bill Pidto.

Before everything got automated online, Primetime was the main source for fantasy stats.
