I know it’s dislocated,” Mularkey said. “Beyond that, I don’t know all the medical terms. But it’s not a good – he’ll be out for the season.”

The loss of the versatile offensive lineman, who started all 16 games last season at three positions, is a tremendous blow for a line that may open this season with three new starters.

For those who read the OP and want to know who he's talking about, it's Byron Bell.

The Titans thought they were holding a regular practice. What happened next brought tears to my eyes.

This happened to a RB I blocked for in High School. I can't remember who screamed louder, him or the guy who tackled him. Seeing that 5 feet away was about as disturbing as you can imagine. Reminded me of the scene in Saving Private Ryan when the guy is picking him arm up off the beach.

Sucks. He hasn't been very good but he's experienced and flexible. Poutasi better be ready to play. Same with Tretola.

Okay, now you're just making up names.

Necessary evils of playing football.
More players are lost during the offseason to injury than during the season, or it seems to me.

I wouldn't say it's a necessary evil but it certainly is part of the game

Jeremiah Poutasi, 2nd year OG/OT out of Utah.
Sebastian Tretola, 6th round OG this year out of Arky.
Deal with it.

I know he wasn't a pro bowler but a player who started 16 games for you last year is a big blow for a franchise trying to move forward on 2016

Trade for Ronald Leary seems a good idea

i thought that dude was a beast. surprised he fell all the way to the 6th. maybe weight/conditioning issues.

It seems a lot of people from that Arkansas offense were severely underrated.
The fact that Alex Collins went in the 5th round is absurd.

It's certainly a big blow. Again, he was a veteran who could at least be counted on for depth at tackle and was in the mix to fight for starting LG spot. Lots of rotation in the Titans O-line with Ben Jones coming over from Houston at Center, 1st round RT Conklin, and now Bell being out with injury.
Keeping fingers crossed that Conklin is the real deal and that Lewan can be more consistent. Incredibly frustrating to see Mariota on his back or running for his life every drop back.

If he isn't a perennial probowler the entire front office should be banned from football for not taking tunsil because of pot.

Perennial pro bowler? Really? If Tunsil isn't a perennial pro bowler either, does your statement still stand? What if they're both pro bowlers? What if one has injury trouble? I don't understand how what if you've said is so definitive regardless of the context of their two careers.
I'll be vey happy if he has a Dave Stewart (8 year fixture at RT) or Michael Roos (9 year LT) type career. Give me consistency and a mean streak in the running game.

You described tunsil to a t.

Look I agree Tunsil is a great prospect. But I have a feeling you're viewing their selection of Conklin through Ole Miss glasses only. They (and a lot of the league) saw Conklin as a prototypical RT in the NFL. He played both sides for Sparty and can provide depth at LT if needed but he's a RT first, which the Titans made a priority. I'm in no way saying Conklin will be a better player but GM Robinson was adamant they had Conklin ahead of Tunsil for filling THEIR needs. Believe what you want but they insisted it had nothing to do with the pot video the night of the draft. That context is important and makes your comment seem short sighted and narrow.
In a vacuum, it's hard not to see Tunsil's talent and say he's a no brainer. But with Lewan at LT (and with him being pretty solid at the end of last year --- needs to avoid silly penalties) the Titans wanted to go find a bookend for the other end. I can't fault them for that logic and certainly don't chalk up their passing on Tunsil to the pot video.
Edit: and I see you conveniently side-stepped the first part of my response.

especially as anemic as their line already is. Sad to hear for a franchise that has already crumbled. Hoping they can turn things around and at least compete in a few games this year.
