"at this point" is key. You are right in that it is losing it's luster. But name something else. in sport, that is more compelling? Or was more compelling 5-6 years ago? If you say "deflatgate" I "e-spit" at you!!

For the golf fan I could see your point but I could list many.

For one the superbowl lol.

Atlanta trying to win it's first and Tom Brady trying to stick it to Roger is way more compelling then Tiger Woods right now.

I think he's likely done as far as being a truly competitive player. But come on dude, if serious about a comeback, just go through the paces of a comeback. Stink up the place, get cut, etc. I can't imagine WDing every time you suck is really a better option to getting your game back.

The only caveat is that I'm sure it's incredibly frustrating to not be able to do anything like you used to do it. That said, the whole "oh I'm hurt I'll WD and get it right by training" hasn't worked.

Did you actually watch? On the practice green, before he ever teed off Thursday, he was stiff as a board and could barely bend down to pick up his ball

I have no idea if he's actually hurt or not. I suspect there is some truth to his claims of injuries, but I also suspect he has used injury as a way to avoid embarrassment on multiple occasions.

But if he's as hurt as you seem to say, he's obviously making some poor choices in trying to give it a go.

He isnt "hurt." It is back spasms.

This is a guy who played through a broken leg, busted knee, a dislocated finger(that he popped back in to finish the round ) and he can't finish due to back spasms? Gawd, dude is just a straight up liar if that's the case.

Damn, the point of my post went way over your head. You think Tiger is being honest about his "injuries" or reasoning for WDs? I mean, he has never been honest about anything and he quits over spasms?

I actually know the answer to this.

It's...I don't know. You don't know. The poster you're replying to, he does't know either.

It is clearly physical. After the divorce shenanigans, he came out in 2013 and won player of their year, The Players, and 5 tournaments!

That is damn near a career for most good golfers

The majority of it is now, but he went from immortal to fighting for tournaments after he got busted. I still think Elin busted his tooth out and knocked him damn near unconscious that night

For like a year or so. But he clearly got it back in 2013.

I don't disagree. But that was 4 years after the 2009 scandal. He was 38 years old in 2013 and that's when the injuries started taking their toll. So yeah I agree with you that it's physical at this point.

This is a pretty cool timeline of his career. His back gets the attention now but he had major knee surgery in 2009 also
