Tiger acts like a child, and I love how people try to justify that w/ "he makes a lot of money and can do whatever he wants"
Yes, he obviously can "do whatever he wants" but what makes that right? And whats wrong with the game wanting players to respect it? I think its good to have a sport where people act like gentlemen.

Tiger is done. He won't get Jack's record. It's great to see him go down in flames like this. Yeah, he'll be a top 5, top 10 golfer from here on out--maybe. And he'll even get another major or two. But in by his standards, he's going down in flames.

The fact that no one else gets 1/10th of the exposure makes this statement absolutely absurd. There are tons of pricks on the tour. There are guys who spit on greens every week. There are guys who cuss out people in the crowd every week.
The difference is that those guys are losers, so they are never anywhere close to being on camera.
I've personally watched several Pros act like a bunch of @#$holes on Thursday at the freakin' Zurich Classic. One guy used his club to sling dirt and debris on two kids (one boy, one girl) both under 7. Saw another guy berate a fan because the fan coughed while he was doing his putting routine. He wasn't even close to being over the ball, just lining up behind it and checking the line. I've seen another guy throw a Scotty Cameron Futura into the side of a green (back of putter stuck in green where it was standing up on it's own) because he was mad that he didn't get his putt past the fringe. Several other players throw wedges into the grass around the green having the putter stick up after flubbing shots. Players hit a bad shot on a tee box and then immediately either pound the ground like a 2nd grader or swing the club back and forth taking out grass on the tee box.
I saw all of those things happen in 2 days in the last 2 years. I can't imagine what happens throughout the rest of the golfing year.
All of that stuff would be considered "douchey". The problem is that the only player from above that I could remember is Ian Poulter because his annoying parents were chasing him around saying "play well, Ian" in there stupid little English accent. The rest were a bunch of losers who I had to look up there names and have since forgotten.

Tiger is the only professional golfer who has to face the media when he is struggling and finishes 50th or worst in a tourney. Heck, they were following his every shot and he got interviewed last year when he didn't even make the cut.

You keep mentioning all these other pros who are losers and never on camera doing things people like you see...but not most other people. Well...those pros arent Ambassadors of the game like the Tigers, Phils, VJs, Westwoods, Bubbas etc are. Alot of people have ripped John Daly for his antics both on and off the course...his giving up on the course when things are going bad. No one would care what Daly did if he wasnt a face for the PGA. Of course some other pro golfers do things that are crude or disrespectful...but they know they arent on camera. And it doesnt make it right. And if they were caught doing those things on camera...im sure they would be talked to and criticized. Rory Sabattini...who isnt one of the very elite players...but gets in contention enough to be on camera..had a big temper tantrum problem and was widely criticized.
The main thing is that Tiger himself knows he's wrong and admits it when he behaves that way. Golf is a unique sport...its the only sport where participants call penalties on themselves...which is why it's a "gentleman's" game.
