I normally hate comparing how sports are run to how economies are run, but soccer is about as free market as you can get.

Mediocrity in professional (non-US) soccer = relegation to a weaker league, non-participation in tournaments
Mediocrity in professional football = higher draft pick, easier schedule

Professional soccer = practically zero compensation restrictions, absurd payrolls, leagues dominated by the higher spenders
Professional football = salary cap, rules requiring teams to spend a high % of that cap

Soccer is for capitalists, a-hole.

That's a funny thing to say. If you go by the economic structures of the two sports, the NFL is the most socialist sport on the planet while European Soccer embodies capitalism more than any other sport.

Which is why I prefer college to the pro game.

And yet it's embraced and played by socialists.

soccer tards are the worst. Its a gay arse sport (if you really want to call it a sport) whey payers fake injuries so bad that they get carried off in a stretcher and are magically healed in seconds.

frick that stupid "sport"

I had lunch and then some tea today. Waiting on soccer because brother-in-law is in town from England.

And in between a soccer game happened in the Premier League.

And then we went to the movies and the score was still the same.

And then we came home...and it was same score...and we had dinner...and nobody was that exited because nobody won...and so it was...you rooted hard but sorry, sometimes people don't win in this sport. And so you sort of wasted 4 hours. It sucks.

Soccer games always last less than 2 hours if you include halftime, so sorry your story is shite

Plus there were only 2 draws today, one of which ended 3-3 with a super late goal to tie it up.

Today was actually a relatively high scoring day.

sorry but no one in America will ever care about soccer the same way they care about football, basketball, or baseball.
