Hahaha no. The Bears biggest OL in 85 was 278 lbs. They averaged about 265. They would get eaten alive by Bamas front 7. That isn't really debatable

I didn't say they wouldn't get eaten alive I just asked what Thayer and Covert weighed.
But then again the Broncos played small and did okay, so.

Lol you fricking idiot. The average was 260 KILOGRAMS. the '85 BEARS would RAPE teams TODAY

I pointed out that in the thread earlier that the largest bears offensive lineman would be 28 pounds lighter than the SMALLEST guard drafted in the 2015 NFL draft.
These guys wouldn't even get drafted in today's NFL
Absolutely
Would probably be smaller and weaker than any offensive line Bama played last season. Today's athletes are just that much bigger and stronger. 30 years makes a lot of difference.

Was also 17 years ago and they wouldn't get away with all the chop blocks today
And even that team was bigger than the 85 bears. The average weight of their starters was about 287. Small by today's standards and even small by standards 17 years ago but they would have been considered huge hogs in 1985.
These guys played a lot leaner as well.

They didn't chop they cut. Teams still cut, every team in football cuts.

I'd love to see Cam play the old school Raiders or Steelers or even the 85 Bears. That dancing shite wouldn't fly.

Butkus D Jones, Alan Page, Alex Karras would all make Cam cry.

What? Bama would beat the 85 Bears? Somebody's high as a MF'er in here.
Steve Atwater did and still could wreck shite. He'd put Cam to sleep playing under the old NFL rules.

quote:No he wouldn't. NFL qbs from Atwaters time were normally 6'2" 210 lbs(same as today). and they survived fine. Cam is 6'5" 250. To say he couldn't survive or would cry is so damn stupid
