like this.....

And not like this crap!

Or this crap!

Or this crap!

It's very likely the Royals will vacate the Truman sports complex in the next 5 years heading to the downtown KC area to a new baseball stadium leaving Arrowhead as the lone venue. The strong rumor is the Chiefs are also looking to build a new stadium either at the current location or possibly somewhere else in the KC Metro.

The trend is to build stadiums that are not affected by the elements, I hope Clark Hunt bucks this trend if and when he decides to build a new stadium.

A football stadium open to the elements is what makes the game of football an experience like no other in professional sports. There's something about a football game in an outdoor stadium when the snow is coming down, maybe there's rain, strong winds, sleet....whatever, the variance in the weather conditions is what makes for some of the most memorable football games ever played.

Lambeau Field....

Gillette Stadium

Soldier Field

Heinz Field

I know Clark Hunt can't build another Arrowhead due to building code changes. I do hope Clark Hunt builds a stadium that is reminiscent of Arrowhead.

Clark county got stuck in the arse paying for both stadium upgrades, now paying for a new football stadium?

Lol, what idiots hunts should pay for every cent of the new place, including the property.

I don’t think the chiefs will move…just posturing for public $$$

They’re going to tear down Kauffman Stadium once the royals move downtown and turn it into a hopefully not shitty replica of SoFi’s surrounding entertainment district (but Arrowhead would remain)

The dumbest idea ever uttered by those that will bolt and never claim any responsibility for such a numbskull project.

The overwhelming majority of season ticket holders live in the suburbia that is Liberty, Johnson County, Olathe, and Shawnee. There’s a reason they live out there and that’s to avoid the riff-raff in the city. NO ONE, and I mean no is going to Downtown KC to see a Royals game when you have to deal with no parking, atrocious roads that are constantly in disrepair, and CRIME. The K is an easy shot down the interstate from east, south, north, & west to a beautiful place to catch a professional baseball game. Easy access, acres of parking, and zero crime.

It’s no secret Clark Hunt and the county want a new stadium with a retractable roof, to attract a SB. Yeah, no one, but no one is going to KC in January/February for the SB.

A football field open to the elements is what keeps a Super Bowl bid away in a lot of cases.

I’m betting most new stadiums that are built will be built as a dome or a retractable roof.

Cities want a shot at that influx of money.

Ive been to a game at Arrowhead and it's one of the best stadiums I've been in. I know it's old and won't last forever, but I believe the Chiefs are going to lose a step when they leave it behind.

I'm pretty confident the Royals move downtown in the next five years. The Chiefs will either stay in the Arrowhead vicinity or move further into Kansas close to where the professional soccer teams play. If I had to put money on it, I'd say they tear down Kauffman and stay in Arrowhead until the new stadium is built right next door.

Love Arrowhead. Loudest outdoor stadium, great tailgating lot, and REAL all natural grass field that is cared for every day

They are, I have it on good authority. It's just a matter of picking the site, otherwise it's a done deal.

If/when the Royals vacate the Truman Sports Complex the Chiefs could take all that property and make going it a destination experience for NFL fans. There would be ample room to set aside an area for an enhanced tailgate experience including an outdoor big screen for overflow crowds on game day, the options and possible enhancements would be immense if/when the Royals vacate.

It was 61 degrees in KC today, could it be 10 degrees? Yeah but in early February when the Super Bowl is played it could easily be mid to upper 40’s or warmer. If that huge property is developed properly with the fans in mind the weather will not play a major role in the game day experience. Hunt has the opportunity his father had over 50 years ago, build a stadium and complex that is forward looking.

Separates the football fans from the strutting peacocks…..lol Outdoor stadiums are the stadiums of the street level fans.

Just checked. Average temp in KC in February is mid 40’s with only three days of precipitation.
