So glad to see Sage Steele didn't make the cut.

A top 25 without Berman is bogus. He should be top 10 based on his nicknames alone.

ESPN would have died without Berman. There was no reason to watch the crappy content ESPN had. Berman was the face of ESPN from 1979 into the early 1990's.

Kenny Mayne and Dan Patrick were great on the late night SC after Olbermann left. LINK

As a tag team in what they created on air...to take ESPN to where it's at....

1. KO and DP
2. KM and DP

I never understood why it seemed Mayne got booted to Siberia and was basically covering horse racing and odd golf tournaments.

Berman was everywhere NFL, MLB, Cohn was on non-stop...where was Kenny after the 90's?

Nick Charles and Fred Hickman were what I watched when Turner had CNN(and later CNNSI), loved Deford and Huber, Patrick, Celini, Fricke, Hicks, Storm, Olbermann, even some Van Earl Wright at the breaks too. CNN had the balls to bring on Danny Sheridan,etc..and cover gambling before ESPN. Truly didn't become an ESPN SC religious watcher until there was no other option available. Back then at the 10 to 10:30 PM CST slot, it was Nick and Fred for me.

Saw Nick Charles at the bar in Ballys-LV for a Tyson fight in 1990, guy was a player, had a nice blonde he was working on, gave him a head nod and smile, he winked back. Now, I catch Fred on local 33 in BR.

Cool note. Hickman does the local news for the NBC affiliate for here in Lafayette as well. I guess it's the same station

He's just not my cup of tea, and not good enough to beat out Dan Patrick, Rich Eisen, Linda Cohn, and Kenny Mayne.

I don't give a frick about his politics, I just think he's an a-hole.

At one point the cnn show with Fred and nick was just as good if not better than sports center.

If memory serves me correctly, as soon as KO and DP came along sports center entered another stratosphere and knocked the cnn show out.
