You cleared it up for me.

You're a fan of the state of Louisiana.

You really have no dog in the hunt, so that explains your comments.
True, I am loyal to my Alma Mater, but I also have had enough personal experience with the ULL fan base to shape my viewpoint on that particular subject.

I wish them well. No fear whatsoever that this will impede the Tigers path in any way.

It wasn't a few.

I'm well aware of the sentiment from a significant percentage of the ULL fan base.

ULL can upgrade their name , their facilities and maybe their schedule one day. I have no reason to wish them well in any endeavors and I'm okay with that.

And its pretty apparent that same sentiment occurs in BR related to ULL. It's obvious with the weekly ULL threads on here.

Typical ulala fan hiding behind a team that has done what they can't, beat LSU. With two recent national championships & playing for a third, I'd say LSU isn't that far behind bama. I'd also say comparing ulala to LSU vs LSU to Bama is galaxies away from being remotely the same thing. Hell, if you want to compare any school from Louisiana to LSU, I'd go with ULM, at least they can say they beat an SEC team, Bama being one of them.

The state of Texas has 25 million people to Louisiana's 4.5 million, hence the overall point with regard to a base they can draw from beyond their specific locale.

This was exactly my point and why ULL will always have a hard time joining a major conference. It's not just about Baton Rouge vs Lafayette vs Waco population etc...It's your overall fan base that you can draw from to make your program attractive for marketability purposes.

I posted the populations earlier to show that comparing this situation to Louisville vs Kentucky is simply ignorant considering Louisville one of the biggest metro areas in the country.

We get it, already. Some ULL dude punked you and stole your girl. No reason to have so much hate in your heart for a whole school.

Good luck ULL. Become as great as you can.

Everyone wants to be great, and everyone's goal should be to compete at the highest level.

All this talk about UL taking something away or being better than LSU is unnecessary and silly. While the Cajuns are experiencing one of the best athletic years in their history, that doesn't mean that suddenly the Big 12 is going to come knocking. But this is a message board and people don't keep anything in perspective on message boards.

LSU's success in all sports is an example of what a top athletic program represents. While being ranked #1 in a baseball poll is an exciting thing, it means nothing in the end unless you can finish the job. That's something UL has not done yet. So all this arguing that some of these Cajun fans are doing suddenly about how we're better than you because of blah blah blah is a waste of time. As a UL graduate and fan myself I am embarrassed by a lot of these guys that are running their mouths. Get out and support your team and enjoy the success and quit making yourselves look like a bunch of fools. I'm not going to begin to get into some of these LSU folks but my goodness a lot of you don't do your fan base much good.

Everything has its ups and downs, good times come and go. I'm going to spend more time enjoying and supporting my team and less worrying about what some arrogant troublemakers are saying behind a message board. I suggest you all do the same.

TL:DR UL finding some success doesn't make them the new king of the state, and while I would love for it to, it's not going to change any time soon, if ever.
