You can also legally (for now) wager on a fantasy team for these games too on Draft Kings.

You should have seen some of the stuff that was on regular ESPN back in the early 80's. You could wake up at 7 or 8 in the morning and watch roller derby, cliff diving or speed boat racing.

I stumbled upon a few Magic the Gathering tournaments on ESPN2 at like 1AM several years ago.

Edit: I found some footage on YouTube. The announcers, man. It's like watching real-life Leroy Jenkins.

That madden tournament where they like traveled the country on a bus and played madden at different places across the country and they would stop in cities and play with NFL players was the GOAT

They flashed the leading money winners of the year at the time on the screen and the top guy was at like $85K.

They used to broadcast a lot of Australian rules football in the early days too. And rodeos. One of the first things I ever remember watching on ESPN was a basketball game that was barely one step above a pickup game. No idea what league it was. Probably some regional semi pro league.

I ran into espn showing a dominoes match during the day maybe 6 years ago or something.

Of course, it was two Jamaicans going at it

That piece ESPN just did on DOTA 2 was incredible. There's so much money for the top of the line players. I didn't even know what to compare that environment to.

Those free to play games like Dota and league of legends are selling out professional arenas.

They've been getting coverage on espn lately.
