I think if Ryen re-signs with ESPN what we are seeing now is how the show will go forward. Call it the Russillo Show but it will be a mix of Virk/Russillo and Kanell/Russillo with Virk/Kanell on when Ryen is on vacation
This would work. I wonder if Adnan would eventually want the show rebranded if he becomes a permanent co-host.

It was the SVP Show for quite a while before Russillo's name was added to the marquee
If Ryen leaves in September then I think they give the show to Virk outright
Kanell will get better when football season cranks up. He did say this week that he is toning down his Twitter troll routine which will slow down the Russillo hazing. You can tell Russillo has more respect for Virk as a media professional than kanell and it shows in their interaction on the show.
I feel bad about SVP leaving but I am fine with how the show is setting up. FTR I listen to the podcast everyday so I am pretty invested in this

Yeah, it seems pretty up in the air still on what Russillo will do at the end of the summer.
Adnan/Danny could be pretty solid, too, if it ever came to that. The show is amazing during college football season. Wouldn't you kill to see the show go on the road and Ryen doing the show with Kanell from an SEC campus?

I was just coming in here to say that. Russillo is treating Kanell like an amateur and laughing when he does dumb shite, but is more of a team player with Adnan.

Adnan is somewhat similar to a young SVP in that he's an affable rising start that has ascended because he's knowledgable, likeable, relatable, self aware, thoughtful, and approachable. He works really well to balance Russillo and seems to put Russillo in a better mood, or at least show a more relaxed side. He's also infinitely more polished as a professional than DK. The shows with DK seem a bit clunky like they're finding there way.
Even setting aside my liking Adnan and thinking DK sucks donkey arse in general, the way the show runs and how Russillo functions is so much better with Adnan than with DK.
ETA: And I'd MUCH prefer Bretos as the designated stand in to a hypothetical RR & Virk show over DK. Bretos is WAY more interesting and engaging.

frick kannell is bad in this format with russillo. Just one awkward pause after another. I know its soon but im wondering if russillo doesn't need a cowherd type show where he just has outsider chirping in from time to time. I mean I felt like his personality even kinda overpowered SVP alot of the time

I like Virk as a singular personality, but haven't really loved the back and forth with him and RR either. Idk. Russillo just has that likeable a-hole thing going that isnt gonna work with alot of people. I miss SVP more than I thought I would :(

Also, it's pretty apparent Russillo and Stanford Steve like to grill or poke fun Kanell a bit. I don't think it's anything other than light hearted banter. And Kanell has been the level headed one of the 3 today. Russillo and Stanford Steve have been close to going full retard today. And in those segments, they've voiced how much the disagree with Kanell. They sounded like idiots while doing so.

Watched the same show as you apparently did, ReauxTide, but did not see anything remotely funny on the part of Kannel. And as for him being "level headed"? He's a clown with a stupid giggle & even worse looking smile. Will not be watching when he's on anymore, life is too short.

Kannell has been very down to earth, and Russillo/Steve have given him a beating for his shitty football career multiple times. Kannell has even trashed himself multiple times. He's not a bad dude, I just don't like the rapport between the two.

ETA-And he hasn't brought his typical heavy trolling to the show so that's good. I just really don't like the tone of the show with him on there. Whereas I think Adnan balances Ryen well in the same way SVP did, Danny seems to bring out the worst in him, feeding the cocky meathead side of him. So far it's not so much that I've hated DK on the show, I just don't like the show nearly as much with him on it.

Today he said it was a bad look for Harbaugh in the Cowherd interview. Stanford Steve comes in, makes Kanell seem like an idiot, and says "Harbaugh won today." Sorry, but I'm not gonna join the Kanell bashing party and Stanford Steve sounded like a moron.
