Kannell is basically breaking down how he planned to troll Billy Horschel.

Show was identical to the last few years of summer shows

SVP does golf, disappears for a few weeks
Ryen does show with adnan or Bretos or Kanell
Main difference is SVP ain't coming back this time

Not reading this whole thread but has it been mentioned how fricking lame danny kannel was. Am st ruined it for me. RR outright calling him an idiot over his opinion on the pete rose thing saved it for me. It felt at times like russillo wanted to tell him to gtfo

100% correct. What he has said has been right. His "trolling" is almost exclusively on twitter.

Exactly.

With all the crap he gets on twitter from the Finebaum idiots, it's not surprised he fires back with the trolls.

Not only that, I feel like he's going to dial it back this year and from now on. He even mentioned it today. They talked about his reputation and he said its warranted, and that he needs to clean it up a bit.

I shouldn't really care about that much but I like the guy and think he can be really good at his job. How long has he been doing this? I'm not sure if he thought his career with ESPN was going to take off like it has. He's been a little too petty and trolled a ton these last two years. He'll probably tone it down going forward, and he bring a lot more to the table than just trolling.

So, he's "been a little too petty & trolled a lot these last two years". What exactly do you like about him, then? As that is all he's done in that period.Next to Finebaum, he's the biggest troller on ESPN.

I think he's funny as hell and doesn't take himself too serious. He has great stories from his playing days and from his personal life. I'm sure he has tons of opinions that you and other don't agree with but IMO he seems like he's in touch with how stuff works but doesn't try to sit there and act like a know it all about every subject like most guys do.

I don't care if people like him and I'm not really interested in convincing y'all to listen. My only point is I think it's a bit of a mistake to write him off as a punk because of his CFB appearances the last couple years. That's it. I don't think that's who he is.

You don't think that is who he is? Based on what, exactly? His resume'/reputation is self made based on his actual actions/words since he's been covering college football. And that is exactly what I am basing my humble opinion on. The facts, not psychological evaluations of his psyche. Continue to enjoy his trolling style if you choose. I choose not to watch him, just like I choose not to watch Finebaum or in the past, Lou Holtz.

I think the best candidate for cohost with Ryen would be Todd Mcshay but I can't see him committing to that kind of work log

Kanell has been fine as a fill in so far

Virk is a better fit than Kanell

Virk is a natural leader of the show from his experience on Bareball Tonight and allows Russillo to play the complementary role that he thrived in with SVP

Kanell defers to russillo too much and that causes russillo to lead the show which is not his strong suit.

Well, it's the Ryen Russillo show.

Call it want you want but frankly Ryen messing with kanell for three hours isn't my idea of good radio

Russillo just doesn't seem like a natural fit as the show's host. Virk was so smooth yesterday hosting the show and that allowed Ryen to just be himself and stay in his lane

Ryen hates media trolls, so as much as he probably likes kanell personally, all of the trolling kanell has done makes him a prime target for Ryen to mess with him

Ryen can take all of the shots and score all of the points but Virk is better at running the offense

I think if Ryen re-signs with ESPN what we are seeing now is how the show will go forward. Call it the Russillo Show but it will be a mix of Virk/Russillo and Kanell/Russillo with Virk/Kanell on when Ryen is on vacation
