I really like ISUs chances at Iowa week one. Would be huge for the MVFC.

You shouldn't. The B1G officials won't let it happen. Uni has been screwed multiple times at Iowa.

Couple days late on this....

South Dakota starting QB is out for the year.

VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) South Dakota coach Joe Glenn says two-year starting quarterback Kevin Earl will miss what would have been his senior season because of a lingering back injury.

The Coyotes are turning the offense over to junior backup Ryan Saeger. The 6-foot-4 native of Heartland, Wisconsin, started four games last season after Earl suffered a broken thumb.

Saeger guided USD to its only two wins of the season. He finished the year with 660 passing yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

Earl last year threw for 1,593 yards, with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The Coyotes open the season Sept. 5 at Kansas State.

Joe Glenn. Former Montana and Wyoming coach. He's really struggled at South Dakota.

USD has just moved up and he is trying to build it from the ground. SDSU has always been the good team in that state. He also got an unlucky break by getting put into the best conference in FCS.

Thanks.

LA's own Kori Garcia for Cal Poly.

They are our Big West brothers in basketball. Unfortunately, the rest of the conference dropped the sport.

I wonder how much his production falls off this year now that Garrett Safron graduated. No idea who their backup is or how good he is.

I believe Daniel Kniffin will be the starter. He's a sophomore. Everyone else are freshman.

Saffron and DeAndre Carter were huge for me in my fantasy league last year. Going to be tough to replace that production.

The FCS Coaches poll was released yesterday. As always will bold the two conferences that are important.

Observations:

6 MVC ranked
3 SLC teams ranked
Surprised that SLU and MCNeese are ranked as high as they are and Fordham is that low. Idaho State in the top 25 is just a sympathy vote to get some Sky love going. Eastern is the sneaky team, they are in the OVC so should have a relative easy schedule, good coaches and talent also will let them rise up in polls after their money games.

1 North Dakota State (24)
2 Illinois State

3 Villanova
4 Sam Houston State
5 Coastal Carolina
6 Eastern Washington
7 New Hampshire
8 Chattanooga
9 Jacksonville State
10 Northern Iowa
11 Montana State
12 Montana
13 James Madison
14 Liberty
15 South Dakota State
16 Youngstown State

17 Eastern Kentucky
18 Richmond
19 Southeastern Louisiana
20 Indiana State

21 Fordham
22 Harvard
23 McNeese State
24 Idaho State
25 Eastern Illinois

All American running back, Coprich, had his captaincy stripped and had a reduction in scholarship. Will not miss any time. Good news for ISU. Sounds like this has motivated him to get back in good graces as well.

Fordham lost a lot of skill players to graduation. It's going to be tough to replace everybody.

In case you guys did not know the Sports Network, the only reliable source for FCS news has merged with STATS. As of now, they have not done anything decent in providing news.

I am not sure who will be the main outlet to release the Payton, Robinson, Rice, Buchannon awards, and the AA teams.

The media poll for FCS was released Monday and just now getting a chance to post it. Some differences than the coaches.

My opinions:

Shocked Stephen F is ranked
The MVC is the power of the FCS and SLC is better than the SoCon, Patriot, etc, but no credit given
NDSU should be, but is not unanimous number 1
Still not sure what everyone sees in Idaho St
The surprise team IMO is not ranked (Eastern Illinois)

1 North Dakota State
2 Illinois State
3 Sam Houston State

4 Villanova
5 Coastal Carolina
6 Eastern Washington
7 Jacksonville State
8 Chattanooga
9 New Hampshire
10 UNI
11 Montana State
12 James Madison
13 Montana
14 Youngstown State
15 Liberty
16 South Dakota State
17 Eastern Kentucky
18 Richmond
19 Southeastern Louisiana
20 Fordham
21 Indiana State
22 Idaho State
23 Harvard
24 Stephen F. Austin
25 McNeese State

My oh my, there is so much fail in this statement.

USD has had the better history of football in the state of South Dakota. South Dakota is the school that won conference championships, went to the playoffs, played in a National Title game,a nd is the only team in the state with a win over an FBS team (Minnesota 2010).

SDSU last won a conference title in 1963. They made the D2 playoffs once, 1979, and lost. They've made the FCS playoffs recently and lost.

The only thing SDSU has on USD is they got the jump on them by moving to the FCS first and established their program quicker.
