well done...that is exactly the truth....

CP3's game is up there with these guys but he doesn't attract as much attention has the following guys that listed. Maybe because he was in a smaller market before and is a quiet to himself kind of guy? not sure...

I'm not a Lakers hater but it would be nice to see one of these big teams lose a major FA rather than just the Clevelands, Torontos and New Orleans' of the world.

Despite all of the news out there, I will be very surprised if Howard doesn't resign with LA. I can't see him turning down the extra 30 million they can pay him. There will be reports about how he is "blown away" by the Lakers presentation and he'll talk a lot about how his teammates and the billboards swayed him, but he is resigning for the extra money (which would be hard to turn down for anyone).

That "extra 30 million" is misleading. I would actually be shocked if he stayed with the Lakers. He hated the coach and hates the stage. And they won't be winning anything anytime soon.

I don't think Dwight Howard deserves to be mentioned with Melo.

That's saying something about how terrible he is.

5 yrs at $30 million per with LA and Cali taxes

VS

4 yrs at $25 million (i think) with TX taxes.

Is the total value over 5 years that different when accounting for taxes? IDK.

ETA: The highest tax bracket for Cali is 10%, so that's already 10% off the total. Then how much does LA take as well?

California ridiculous state tax will negate most of that extra money. Also there is no way Kobe wants Dwight on his team.

I would bet almost every team in the league would rather have a healthy Dwight over a healthy Melo.

Melo is a great scorer and that's it. He doesn't defend well. He isn't a good team player. He is very inefficient with his scoring.

Dwight took a team worse than the knicks to the finals a few years ago.

Melo shits the bed every year in the playoffs.

Dude...

That Magic team was sick that year:

Howard
Hedo
Rashard Lewis
Courtney Lee (WTF happened to him?)
Rafer Alston
Gortat
Redick
Pietrus (Another WTF happened to him?)

EDIT: Forgot about Nelson, who got injured, but SVG played him in the Finals which fricked everything.

Kobe has told management that he wants Howard back and he plans on being a part of the Lakers' presentation to Dwight tomorrow.

The presence of Howard made all of those guys look good. There wasn't anything special about most of those guys outside of Hedo.

Well they all played like Games 1-5 NBA Finals Danny Green mode in the majority of that playoff run.

There is no way Houston starts those 2. That would mess up spacing.
