I think this is a bit of an overreaction. Love has struggled of late, and we've seen before that traditional PFs don't mesh well on LeBron-led teams.

He's struggled all year.

He might say that it's his role to sit at the three point line, but his back is fricked up. I highly doubt he wants to bang down low.

Love's game would be perfect for a team like the Hawks.

Love for Schroder, maybe?

Going to need to throw in a 2019 second round pick to sweeten the deal.

Bunch of dumb up in this thread. Kevin love is still a baller. And is doing what is asked of him. It sucks the cavs aren't using all of his skills but what they needed was a stretch 4 and kevin love is the best stretch 4 in the league. He just has other skills that they haven't learned to use yet.

I at all these people gushing over wiggins. Yeah, he's a pretty good rookie but he wouldn't be helping this cavs teams at all right now. Probably wouldn't even be a starter.

MSB logic

Kevin Love puts up 26/12 on the Twolves last year and almost gets them to the playoffs. "OMG HE SUCKS JUST PLAYING ON A SHITTY TEAM AND PUTTING UP INFLATED STATS!!!!"

Wiggins puts up 15/4 on the same Twolves team 1 year later, except this time The Twolves have the worst record in the year.. "ERRMMYYGEHD HES THE NEXT KOBE BRYANT HE SOOOOO GOOD CAVS SO DUMB!!!"

The cavs are playing for a championship RIGHT NOW. They don't want some guy who MIGHT be a superstar in 5 years. They need a guy who fits them NOW. Oh yeah and it just so happens they have another guy on the team who is 22 who also is a superstar RIGHT NOW. But yeah. frick those guys talents. They should just waste the end of Lebrons prime (a top 5 player of all time) bc Wiggins MIGHT BE a superstar in 5 years so stupid

I would really like to see the Cavs feed him in the post more when LeBron is on the bench. I still think this team has a lot of unlocked potential and using all of Love's skills is a big part of that. You can run offense through him but with LeBron and Kyrie, they don't have to.

Disagree with this. Cavs could really use his perimeter defense down the stretch. Shumpert is fantastic and LeBron is LeBron, but Wiggins would be a major asset in that regard.

False. He would be the Cavs primary perimeter defender, at the very least.

Oh, so like a guy who doesn't play in the 4th Quarter?

Who would he replace? He would be a bench player. He would be playing the same role as Shumpert. I love shumpert and he helps the team a lot but he's our 6th-7th best player and Wiggins would be in the same position.

Who's more important. a 17\10 PF starter who spaces the floor for Kyrie\Lebron or a guy who would probably be 8\3 coming off the bench?

The Cavs would be idiots to do that. I think the only way Love doesn't resign with them is if another team offers just too much money to pass up or the Cavs make a deep playoff run regardless of if they win the title or not. I fully expect my Lakers to offer him like 110 million when he's not even worth 85 million imo. So, we shall see. He hasn't been this homerun that many were thought he would be but who didn't see this coming? Same thing that happened to Bosh is happening to Love. Only difference is that Bosh's efficiency was good and that he played in the 4th quarter and was allowed to make some big plays for them. Love is stuck on the bench cheering and they are still winning. But, the Cavs would be fools to trade him away for a player who may not even progress in their system.

Lebron is still a better defender and Shumpert is probably better as well. Everyone keeps saying he is a bad arse defender but where is the proof? I can't find any defensive rating on him because he isn't one of the top rated and his steals\rebounds aren't that great and neither are his defensive win shares (his team doesn't win so he couldnt really get these anyways). People just continue to spout this as a fact with no proof or facts.

Does Kevin Love never play in the 4th quarter? Or are you using a small sample size (maybe 3 games this entire season?) to say he doesn't play in the 4th quarter?

You know who else doesn't play in the 4th quarter? The Cavs starting center (Mozgov). Mozgov is basically the key to the turn around of the Cavs this season and he sees no PT in the 4th bc Blatt likes Thompson in the 4th bc he is rested and an elite rebounder (4th in the league in offensive rebounds even though he plays ~27 mpg and isn't a starter). He also has recently started playing James Jones in the 4th, instead of Love, whenever other teams go small. Blatt does weird shite but it's not because certain players don't fit or aren't good.

The Cavs should play the season out with Love, win or lose in the playoffs, then in the offseason try to sign and trade Kevin Love to LA for their first round draft pick
Why would LA do this?

They'd have a legit shot at grabbing him in free agency plus keeping the pick.

I don't think Love will leave, BUT if Love were to leave.. He would opt into the last year of his contract and then asked to be traded so whomever he goes to will have bird rights AND he can wait and sign his Max deal after the next lockout and the salary cap raises 20 mill.

Whatever team gets him would most likely want to do a trade instead of just picking him up in free agency so they could have bird rights and not have to take as much of a hit to their cap space.

Bosh tried to warn Love that playing with LeBron is not all its cracked up to be. Love is still a great player. LeBron has relegated Love to a perimeter player when Love has so other stuff in his game ala Bosh.

That's an easy answer. He would jettison Dellavedova back to the damn D-League where he belongs.

Well.. Delly is a backup pg who doesn't play that much. So you agree wiggins wouldn't be much more than a bench player?

Maybe you misunderstood my question. Who's role would he replace. Not who's roster spot

Wiggins could play a number of roles. LeBron could run point when Kyrie is on the bench, JR could run point if necessary when LeBron and Kyrie are both on the bench, and Wiggins/Smith/Shumpert could split minutes at 2/3, LeBron could split time between 1/3/4. Possibilities would be endless.

Nah JR Can't play PG anymore. They don't even trust him to do it now when their only other choice is Delly

I think you are agreeing with me though. Wiggins wouldn't be a starter on this team. Would be be a good role player? Sure. But he wouldn't contribute nearly as much as Klove does.
