But UConn not boxing out on that missed Clark free throw was way worse. You can’t expect to win if you can’t even grab a rebound on a critical missed free throw

You can’t make that call in that moment of a final 4 game man let the players decide the outcome

Why not call Clark for an offensive foul on her last 3 when she pushed off and the UConn defender went flying 3 feet?

You should also be able to snag a rebound during a time like that. Iowa won the rebound game

Don't give a shite who won but that big UConn bitch definitely threw a chicken wing. Clearly a foul.

Iowa can barely close out games because they're short and in foul trouble and just give up layups in the last two minutes and make stupid passes.

Almost gave up the game to LSU, almost gifted this game at the end to UConn.

The girl slid over. Feet weren’t set. It was the right call. I am sitting next to a D1 women’s basketball ref and he says it was the right call.

I think by the cold, stark letter of the rule book that was without question a foul.

People want to argue the ref should swallow a whistle on a foul like that with a two-point margin inside the last 10 seconds of a national championship semifinal game, I’ll listen.

Does the player not decide the outcome by setting the moving screen?

I feel like people say what you said all the time, but it’s not like the ref just called a random foul where no one was doing anything. Edwards was not set on the screen.

Again, why should a team gain a big advantage just because its in crunch time? The swallow the whistle philosophy is just fandom that wants to see it play out but totally unfair to the other team.

What I don’t understand is that the majority (or at least a plurality) of people on this site are Saints fans, and they should know better than anybody how much a ref can decide a game by not calling a blatant foul/penalty late in the game, with a chance to go to the championship. Refs decide games by either calling fouls/penalties that weren’t fouls/penalties, or not calling fouls/penalties that were fouls/penalties.

Didnt watch the game. Saw the gif. It was an illegal screen

Now saying that, how many illegal screens were called on each team before that? Because if that is the level they were calling them I would expect at least 3 to be called on Iowa being a team that screens for shooters often

Well 3 hall of fame wnba players all said the call was bs

Who cares what your buddy who refs swac games think

Ask your buddy should it have been an offensive foul on Clark’s last 3, when she pushed off and sent the defender back 3 ft

I don’t wanna hear shite about an illegal screen when you let her push off all game
