Jealous of Japan right now. They cracked the IRB Top 10.

Poor Puma's dropped out the Top 10.

I remember when the US used to regularly beat Japan and play very competitively against Argentina, even beating them from time to time.

This was in the 20th century, for the most part.

It's cause those nations have more exposure to the game right now. Argentina has players throughout Europe, is in The Rugby Championship and will have a Super Rugby team in 2016. Japan's Top League is now the second highest paying in the world and are starting to attract more top notch southern hemisphere players and coaches for their players to compete against.

We really need a professional league between the US & Canada. I think rugby in America is moving in the right direction just not as fast a pace as other Tier 2 nations.

But interest is starting to show. Look the USA vs All Blacks match is nearly almost sold out now.

Oh, trust me, I know the reasons behind our falling behind, and I've ranted many times about the many failures of USA Rugby.

One more international left this weekend. South Africa vs Scotland. Scotland were lucky to get by the Puma's second team so I expect South Africa to run through them especially after their almost losing to Wales.

For the Aussie & Kiwi sides Super Rugby starts back up with some local derbies.

Games of interest

Friday:

(5)Highlanders vs (8)Chiefs

Saturday:

(3)Crusaders vs (6)Hurricanes

(2)Waratahs vs (4)Brumbies

(7)Western Force vs (10)Blues

Oh I don't know how I forgot to mention but it looks like using a loophole in the 7s game Steffon Armitage might be able to switch his allegiance from England to France for the 15s. LINK

Big pickup for Les Bleus if it happens. I imagine his brother would also follow suit.
