We just took a far and away World Series favorite to a game 7 without our Cy Young candidate.

This, the Dodgers were supposed to be one of the best teams in 20 years and we were a Freeman stolen homer away from beating them. All with out Soroka for an entire season basically.

That team belonged vs the Dodgers and I LOVE it for the young players. Very important.

It's only important if you're willing to improve on it.

Just because you pushed a team to the brink doesn't mean it's your birthright to be the "next" team.

Ender is earning more money than Ozzie right now. Wish we could trade him.

Dodgers fans give Raiders fans a run for their money for worst in sports.

Season was always going to come down to offense and bullpen if we were going to make a deep run the way the roster was constructed. Our two best relievers all year long give up the tying and go ahead HRs and the offense lays a complete egg.

I’ll take a deep dive at the roster tomorrow but I think re-signing Freddie and adding a playoff capable starter are your top priorities. Don’t see Ozuna being within their price range. Turner or someone like that is a nice short term fill in.

No chance he's wearing a Braves uniform next season.

Freddie’s contract isn’t up until 21.

I think Ender will be released. Don’t see any way they can find a trade partner.

Obviously but you don’t want him hitting the market next November. Gaining some cost certainty there will also help them with other plans.

Everyone says his price isn't going to be that high because of COVID.

If we don't re-sign him then AA does not have the club's best interest and we need to move on from him. He was the heart and soul of the team this season.

I agree; hope they continue to add.

But you aren’t excited about years of this rotation? Lawd I am:

Soroka
Fried
Anderson

That’s what I’m thinking. If he at least was ok defensively this year we might have been able to find someone that can eat some of the cost but he’s so worthless right now.

bingo. could be another 19 year drought if AA does not act to get us markedly better NOW. the time is NOW! we can win the whole thing. shite we could have this year.

Sure, but it's not as much of a slam dunk as it looks. Soroka won't start the season on time and we need to see a full season from Anderson before we crown him.

He's very good with the potential to be great. It would be great if we got another top arm so there's not so much pressure on him.

This is the bestest of takes:

@braves_stats: “ Losing to the Dodgers in 7, in a year we lost Soroka, is a sign of a great year.

Losing after being up 3-1 in the series and blowing one lead in G5 and two leads in G7 is spectacularly crushing.

Both are true. It was an extremely fun season. Re-sign Ozuna.”

Anderson is going to be very good. Not saying scouting reports and hitters won’t adjust but this postseason wasn’t a fluke. He’s a stud.

Reposting what I said in the game 7 thread because it bears repeating :

quote:

Braves pitched:
-Their ace, who’s only pitched like an ace one year
-Anderson who has only made 2 house payments since his debut
-A career head case in Wright
-Bullpen game

I hope Alex Anthopolous zips up his nuts every time he pisses for the rest of this life.
