I think you give Whalen a shot. He's been on fire lately and really seems to have figured something out (apparently his knees are finally healthy for the first time). Blair and Wisler need to stay in Gwinnett until September and sort out their mechanical/mental issues.

So real question is when do we start wing again? This feels like beginning of the project Butch Jones had to take over at UT.

Unless he improves his secondary stuff and gains an out pitch he'll never be more than a #4/#5. You can't have a K rate of 7 or less and be effective unless you are a heavy groundball pitcher, and Wisler is a flyball guy.

Let me say this: Most of my opinions are formed from following the beat writers on Twitter because I don't get the games right now. So I am wrong from time to time, but I plan on getting mlb tv next year.

How does a primarily sinker ball pitcher become a fly ball guy? That just doesn't seem right.

Is it correct that normally after giving up the runs he has a string of really good innings from inning 3-7? Because that's what the writers say each time he goes out there.

Ball don't sink or ball stays elevated.

When do we stop trading everyone and start winning?

I don't see it happening next year. We don't have enough proven starters or bats.

Even if we make a some noise in free agency, I don't see us contending next year.

I could see us taking a nice step forward next year, but I would think my best guess for competing for wild card/division title would be 2018.

Teheran
Folty
Some combo of Wisler/Blair/Jenkins/Whalen/Gant/Ellis/FA Signing(s)

Newcomb probably at some point next year and Sims in some capacity.
