Kind of expected this kind of "make-good" deal. Cheap starter who can throw a lot of innings for us.
What do y'all think we do with Minor? I've gotta believe he's non-tendered if he won't sign for a good bit less than his arbitration number.

If the scouting system is solid, then bargain shopping is a good strategy.
Also a good way to find veteran guys who have a reason to work hard to serve as mentors for the younger guys.
AJ, Gomes, Grilli, Jim Johnson and Kelly Johnson brought good value to the Braves last year this way.

I'm just worried they're going to try to rush some of these guys to show off to the fans that they knew what they were doing. Especially Newcomb.

The Bud Norris signing today suggests otherwise.
Julio
Shelby
Norris
Wisler
Minor
Manny
No need to rush these kids. They will likely sign one more starter to a NGD with a STI.
ETA: Forgot about Volstad. Still expect another arm or two.

Has Bartolo Colon signed anywhere yet?

I don't know that I see all of them making it to Spring Training as a Brave though. I see Julio or Miller being traded for a bat.
Minor isn't worth nearly what his arbitration number is expected to be ($5.1 mill). If he doesn't resign for a lower number, he should be nontendered.
Manny only threw 113 innings last year. I'm not sure how many they'll want him to go this coming season. 175ish?
Edit: Colon hasn't signed anywhere.

Besides the point on Manny really, as the year progresses as do prospects. Newcombe or Jenkins may not be ready to break camp but may be ready come june.

Newcombe had 7 starts in AA last year, I really hope we don't see him in the majors this year given his control issues so far, he needs time to fix those. I'm hoping we don't see Sims either unless it's a Sept cup of coffee.
I'm sure we'll see Jenkins come June/July. ANd I think you're right we aren't finished grabbing Lottery tickets like Norris for the rotation.

We on a winning streak brah.

Newcombe and Jenkins were examples off the top of my head. But my point remains. With players as talented as them, one adjustment as simple as moving a couple inches on the rubber can turn an average pitcher into a Cy Young winner.

Apparently the Bravos are one of the leading teams to land Ben Zobrist? That's what I just saw on MLBTR.
