I'll be curious to see where Hahnville starts out in their rankings now that they've had a full season in that option offense. If only they could keep a QB healthy.

you have your answer...

Coach Salt will have some interesting things to say i'm sure

Maybe. I think it's a fair placement. We had a good run into the playoffs last season, but the QB position is a question mark apparently.

Geaux, here is a good article from Ken Trahan's site on Hahnville's upcoming season. Besides QB question, one of the better returning RB is now playing WR but that could be a good move.

....IF they throw the ball. I plan on snatching up my Dad's extra season ticket and making all of the home games this year since I moved back to SCP.

I make most of the home games. Gonna miss the Destrehan game this year, I'll be in Waco.

Are they not playing in the jamboree @ Destrehan this year? Or is Jesuit participating in this one this year?

That was the first I heard of it; don't know what happened with the normal jamboree.

they're talking about maybe a metro/rural playoff format, like what Florida has in their smallest class...

let me just say it is a terrible idea. too confusing, and 9.5 miles outside of one of the big cities of Louisiana seems arbitrary. Notre Dame's Louis Cook came up with it...

And now the biggest reach yet of the countdown... where was all this talent last year when 35 was 2-8?

31 today's your day...

John Curtis, Rummel, Landry Walker, Teurlings Catholic, West Monroe, Neville, Destrehan, Zachary, Acadiana, and a mystery team (Byrd?) are left

Ben Franklin. I'd be shocked if they were #1 so I'm guessing we'll be seeing them in the 2-3 range.

okay really... Landry-Walker is a good team, they'll be hard to beat in district, and we will find out

but #7 puts you on the short list of 5A contenders, and they just haven't been that good in 4A. they haven't yet won the state title we've all predicted since Frank Wilson was the coach

my prediction for the last 6

1. Rummel
2. West Monroe
3. Acadiana
4. Curtis
5. Zachary
6. Neville

Doubt WM will be that high. I'd put them behind Neville and Acadiana to start the year. We'll see how they look in December, but for now they haven't earned a 2 spot in the state.

West Monroe #6 which is what I expected. That's fair to start the year.

I'd put WM ahead of Zachary. That's just one of those teams that has to prove they can hang before announcing them top 3+ in the state. Much like Slidell, Fontainebleau, etc., in the past that had those top seeds and got throttled deep in the playoffs.

Zachary does return the 5A MVP and he plays for Jimmy's 7 on 7 team. So them over WM is fine with me. Luckily these rankings mean dick in high school. Don't have to be top 4 to make the playoffs.
