You need to base your opinion of boxing on more than just these glorified exhibitions.

You can definitely tell the people who don't watch boxing and know nothing of its glorious history. If they think this represents the sport, it just shows their lack of knowledge of the sport.

that wasn't a boxing match, that was a boxer making $150 million carrying a Irishman for 45 minutes

It's "dead" yet there's a huge PPV coming up in two weeks named Golovkin-Canelo for the middleweight marbles.

Dead how?

Mayweather and McGregor just combined to make more than the entire UFC roster makes in a calendar year iirc

And so dead UFC biggest star had to come to it to get a good payday.

Nah, this won't kill boxing.

In fact, I expect the rematch in 2 years to easily beat tonight's number.

And when McGregor officially switches over to boxing permanently? Look out!

This wasn't a boxing match. This was a guy dancing around a wheezing irish man until he felt dizzy and was falling over. You have to be able to go 12 on stamina alone before you can step in the ring with an all time great. Nice easy money for Mayweather. Had a good time though laughing at the idiot noobs who thought the first 2 rounds were important.

How much money do UFC fighters make for getting bodies wrecked? That's a sport for people that couldn't hack it in other sports. Just like professional wrestlers.

Odds that they get better numbers than a fight with one of the participants making his boxing debut?

Fights in the 80's were great. Some real hitters even at the lower weights. Boom Boom, Hearns, etc.

Ward vs. Gatti was great.

Ever since the K bros came into the HW title - it's been all paddy-cake defensive fighting.

Too bad Connor didn't raise up MMA but showed the same paddy-cake mentality when he had his best shot in the first 3 rounds.

So, lets not pat MMA on the back.

Their big hero flaked out and never attacked.

McGregor took Mayweather's back in 30 seconds and did so repeatedly throughout fight. You know what happens outside those ropes? Mayweather in an ambulance. So spare me with the rules, in pure unfiltered combat McGregor would gauntlet the top 5 boxers in one night and meet his mates in the bar for a few pints after to celebrate.

No UFC fighter fears a one dimensionally trained boxer.
