We have a trifecta of agreement! I think the German Kolaches have sausage and the Czech Kolaches are sweet and have the fruit in the center.

I think a real kolaches is the one with the fruit filling, and it's a Czech thing. They have another name for the sausage one.
The fruit is more of a dessert and the sausage just screams breakfast manna.
I thought New Orleans was close enough to have them and I stopped off at a Shpleys and they had no idea what I was talking about.
