I won't say he'll be a stud (yet), but it's the best they could have done at the position this year.
He's played well in big games against good teams. He's won a title. He's (allegedly) been a good leader. Also kind of reeks of a desperate GM, but he should be desperate (for his job) at this point.
But he does NOT fit BoB' s offense, IMO.

People don't get it with Watson. He just has that it factor. He makes everyone around him better

I believe it, you score 40 on bama twice, you have my respect. Hell look at washington, there offense wrecked everyone and bama shut that down hard. People can say whatever about watson but he's just a winner, like russell wilson, he has great offensive pieces in hopkins,fuller, lamar miller. Its just nice to finally have a qb who can pick up a 3rd and 9 with his feet. We have had basically 1 decent QB in franchise history, schaub, and 15 years of misery.
If nothing else watson gives me hope now for the next few years.

I think its a forced pick, this defense is good enough to win with a game manager at QB shite trade for alex smith at this point
I would have been OK with Mahomes IMO he was a better fit for the system
By the time Watson can play IF that ever happens this defense will be older , slower and too expensive to keep all the good ones

I for one love the pick. For the first time I feel like the Texans potentially have a real franchise QB. He may never develop into a top 5 QB in the league, but I feel confident that he will be in the top 10-15 range one day, which when you consider what the Texans have had is great.
