No link, was listening to Mike & Mike on way to the office, they had Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens on. Owens said Carter from what he's heard around the league, "had to beg to get in the HoF!"

Idk, TO has better numbers so he will get in. Carter deserves to be in, but at the same time, ESPN has really helped inflate Carter's ego. Guy is a drug abuser, bad team mate, wife beater, and crooked little dude. I remember when he told rookies to always have a "fall guy."

And sired an incredibly lazy son in Duron Carter.

I thought this years ago when Carter got in. The year before he got in, the ballots were released and he didn't get in. Then ESPN spent the whole week basically shaming the HOF for not putting him in.

I think Carter is a HOF'er but I always wonder how guys feel when they have to beg to get in. Wouldn't you want to get in on merit, not because you called in some favors?

This turned me off on Carter forever. He gets on ESPN and tries to preach like he is holier than thou, and then you see his true colors along with the felon Warren Sapp telling the rookies to have a fall guy when the cops find your drugs.

What a role model. It's sad that the fall guy incident has been washed over by the media. I thought he should have hung for that.

I hate pretty much 100% of ESPN content and personalities (especially CC), but what does all of that have to do with being one of the best football players?

I don't have any problem with Cris Carter, but he's one of the least deserving HOFers IMO. Terrell Owens will get in so he shouldn't be worried, most likely the hall is making him wait a year bc he wasn't a "good representation of the league" or something to that effect

He also said why he does not have respect for him by talking about him to others and not to him. I have respect for TO as a player and as a person. He does not seem to hide things.

Chad Johnson is being very insightful also.

This is a very good idea to have "stars" come in an "open forum".

Hearing Carter talk about his son who was at "U of A" was nauseating.

Especially when it's TO and Ochocinco. It would be hard to find two more outspoken guys than those two.

There's a lot of politicking and inappropriate stuff that goes on to get people in and keep people out. "merit" is very subjective with the HOF.

Funny he would say this on Mike and Mike considering that Greenberg was the one bitching and complaining at every turn about Carter not being in the HOF.

TO will be the one begging in an ironic twist of fate.

He has thrown everyone he can under the bus, from Garcia, McNabb, Carter....
The media influences the vote and most do not like these antics. He should really quit while he is ahead.

No he won't. TO deserves it more than Carter. He'll get in soon.

There are others out there. I would love to hear AI on that show.

I think that Greeny and Golic are very good at what they do, although others disagree. They do not promote the assaults like Bayless and Smith do. Bayless on his own is pretty good, but when he has an audience it is over.

Bayless as a writer in Dallas was incredible.

It really is. It's bad enough that he said it, but where he said it is the most shocking thing. To make that kind of statement at a meeting for rookies on how to handle life in the NFL, when you are brought in to be an expert and give great advice is just mind blowing.

It was very awkward because TO tried to expound and they moved to another topic quickly. Chad Johnson was wanting to say something but did not, it looked like.
