There's your problem right there

They will sit out this year Since they never participated, and they will still have four years of eligibility if freshman.

Some were walk ons and some were sophomores.

In baseball, for example, scholarships are year to year. Don't perform as a Freshman, then you may have your scholarship pulled and asked to walk on as a Sophomore or even cut. Go look at an SEC school's Fall ball roster. Most will have 36-40 players listed. Only 35 make the Spring team, so they just wasted a full year and never even got to actually be on the team. Sucks.

Terrible comparison for 2 reasons.

1. Baseball has a roster limit of 35. There are no roster limits in track.

2. These 3 freshmen didn't get the chance to prove themselves. As someone else said, unless these 3 athletes are a cancer to your team, there is absolutely no reason to do what she's doing here.
