Awesome!
This should be pretty epic!
Wonder who gets the TV rights?
This should be pretty epic!

The long-rumoured game between the US Eagles and the New Zealand All Blacks, the world champions who went undefeated through 14 Test matches in 2013, is set to take place at Soldier Field in Chicago on 1 November.
quote:
The report added: “The expectation is that a minimum 40,000 tickets will be sold, which should enable USA Rugby to make a sizeable profit after they have paid the New Zealand Rugby Union a guaranteed sum, believed to be $1m to cover their costs.”
quote:
On Sunday, the Herald said: “USA Rugby is moving towards agreement with relevant English Premiership clubs about player release.” Given full access – which is by no means a given for 1 November, given the strict rules which govern player release for international rugby – the Eagles can field a number of players employed by top-flight clubs.
New Zealand, however, are likely to be overwhelmingly stronger than even a full-strength US XV, not least in the crucial front row of the scrum.
Wonder who gets the TV rights?

Herald said a fixture against Ireland in New York or Boston remains on the NZRU's agenda, despite doubts about the commercial viability of playing Test matches at neutral venues
I've been saying two international teams playing on US soil would be a big draw....

Poor USA, would be sweet to see the All Blacks though

We discussed this at our board meeting ladt week. The midwest clubs' match secretaries are going to be very busy. We're trying to get a match with one of them now in conjunction with this.

We held our own against the Springboks in the last WC.
I doubt we win this match, but it won't be like NZ v Japan results either.

That was brutal...
And hey we hung with their B-side, the Maori AB's, so the Eagles can hold their heads pretty high about that.

and a good way to advertise rugby to the american audience. I'm happy about the eagles playing the all blacks, but a massacre isn't going to sway people into rugby. Watching two powerhouses duke it out on USA soil will help though if marketed well enough
Team USA better bring their A+ game, or they will be embarrassed. Then the casual fan will not be interested.

Last year, the Eagles lost 29-19 to the Maori All Blacks – New Zealand's de facto second team – in front of an 18,500 capacity crowd at PPL Park, the home of the Philadelphia Union MLS franchise.
The Eagles' last two home summer Tests, defeats by Italy and Ireland at Houston Dynamo's BBVA Compass Stadium, attracted 17,241 and 20,181. They will play Scotland at the same venue in June.
I was at the last two matches in Houston, and both were overflow crowds.(Italy & Ireland)
Should be the same this year when we play Scotland.
Americans are slowly learning to appreciate the sport!

Sorry, two WCs ago. I'm old and events blend together.

So if these international sides realize how much money can be made in the US, y'all think more would come over here?

if they indeed get 40-50,000 tickets sold, then yeah. But no other team will draw as many spectators as the All Blacks.
Looks like the last time NZ played in the USA was in 1980. LINK

Look on the front of the AB jersey to see why they are coming over.
AIG is putting up the $1 million for this.that's chump change for them.
