another thing to consider, practice times are cut down now. Padded practices are down, and I think it can magnify some of the mistakes we see in games now.
it has to on some level.
tackling is also not as sound as it could be.
enter some a-hole saying, "IT's the the NFL they should know how to finish off a play."
yeah, that's fine theory and all but tackling is a fundamental.
I'm sure in baseball they still take fielding practice time-to-time.
so I'm not buying the lame arse excuse that they are pros and they should know what to do. No. You work on the fundamentals... there are plenty of teams out there who could stand to use them more.
Seattle seems to have the right idea on defense. Besides them... nobody really jumps out as a team who seems to get it at the moment.

Peterson is overrated on this site, but I understand why. Still a talented player.

and here we go

Sherman stays on one side of the field. It's nice that he takes himself out of the game for everyone.

quote:Yeah, everyone except the quarterbacks who have thrown 24 interceptions to him in his 4 years in the NFL. I bet Peterson has a ton seeing as he covers the opponent's best target.

Wait, no he only has 15.

Excluding Chris Harris...Revis and Sherman also have two of the best safeties in football covering their arse over the top.

Revis was an island corner last year. They put McCourty over the top of Brandon Browner 9 times out of 10 because Browner has a tendency to get beat deep if he whiffs on his re-routing of the WR

Haden is/was probably most overrated CB in recent memory.
Posted on 7/13/15 at 8:47 am to SirWinston
He's pretty good, not sure what makes you say that

TJ Ward is pretty damn good.

Nope. Patrick Robinson and Mo Claiborne way more overrated than Haden.
Posted on 7/13/15 at 10:23 am to TJGator1215
Who the hell overrates mo Claiborne?
Posted on 7/13/15 at 10:27 am to wildtigercat93
The cowboys. He was a 4th rd pick at best. As for Haden

Revis imo is the best all around DB.

Come on this is about a shite on LSU CB thread... of course he is overrated because LSU fans talked him up prior to the draft. Now he wouldn't be considered overrated as a pro, but because of where he was drafted and who he played college for he is overrated.
Posted on 7/13/15 at 10:29 am to TJGator1215
You're just trolling there then. That doesn't make him overrated, that makes him over drafted.
He was plenty talented to get selected where he was. Everyone knows he's bad now, no one is proclaiming him to be a top NFL corner
