I'm a bit of a YouTube junkie at times and am looking for some good, historic US moments to entertain myself with. I was born in 87, so I know I've missed quite a bit.

I've already done some of the bigger moments(96 Gymnastics, Michael Johnson, Caitlyn Jenner, etc), but I'm looking for more to binge on.

Currently, I'm catching up on Florence Griffith Joyner wrecking shite against the roided East German beasts of the 88 games.

So, what are some other must watch moments/athletes?

Michael Phelps 2008 will always be my favorite Olympic moment. Specifically his 400 medley relay and 100 fly

FGJ wrecking the 100M for anyone who cares to remember. Nobody stood a chance.

And in a hijab, no less.

Eta: just read that she was probably doping as well. Well damn

Yeah Flo Jo probably was doping but so were a big majority of the others. I heard about retesting done on the London Olympics with updated methods and it was not encouraging to the anti-dopers. Can't find anything specific but heard on Simmons podcast with Malcolm Gladwell.

The 800 meter in 2012. The fact that everyone was able to throw out the times they did in an olympic setting made me appreciate the hell out of them. 8 went 1:44 or under and all of them would have won the final in the Beijing games. Fricking unheard of.

Bosnia marching in the opening ceremonies as an independent nation for the first time, even while their country was under attack from Serbia. They were so proud just to be there.

Dan vs Dave wasn't olympics as OBrien didn't make the team after no height in the Pole Vault in US Trials at Tad Gormley

Frank Shorter winning '72 Marathon....includes an impostor who enters Olympic Stadium before Shorter and the announcers go berserk I can't imagine this happening after the Palestinian Terrorists killing the Israeli athletes just a few days before this.

Dave Wottle winning the 800 meter '72 Gold with a fantastic kick at the end to come from way back....and wearing his trademark golf cap.

Yep. Was insane to watch Lezak close that relay out from behind. Even better when the French were talking serious shite leading up to it too and were just gut shot by it.

Also enjoyed the 1996 women's gymnastics gold for the U.S. As well as women's soccer winning gold in 96.

Remember some of the Munich Olypics in '72. I was staying with my grandmother on her farm at that time and the terrorist thing really freaked me out. USA had a Boxer from Bossier City named Tim Dement.

Remember being at my parents house in high school watching this and going absolutely ape shite when we won.

I just remember my mom telling me to be quiet and to come eat dinner. Freaking women.
