And what happened when Westbrook got a lot of touches? He broke down. Same thing with Holmes. It's what you value more, 3-4 great years or 9+ good years from a RB. Personally, I think 9+ years of good consistency is more impressive. If we are going by individual seasons, than you have a case that Westbrook or Holmes is a lot more impressive than Jackson.

So remove his second season you still have 9868 total yards and 46 touchdowns

So, with Rickey Williams they become a 5-11 team?
When did the Dolphins go 5-11

Westbrook was 30 years old when he broke down, you could say that about 90% of all great runningbacks

So Jackson had about 800 more yards and 18 LESS TD on about 400 more touches

Ladainian Tomlinson
Chris Johnson
Preist Holmes
Ricky Williams
Jamal Lewis
Adrian Peterson
Brian Westbrook
Arian Foster
Ray Rice
Maurice Drew
Edgerrin James
Corey Dillion
Tiki Barber
Shaun Alexander
Clinton Portis

Foster already has 2 years better than Jackson's best season

And he's a really weird/moody guy who could frick it all up tomorrow.

um he has one (2010). and you're comparing apples to oranges based off of Foster's 2 significant seasons with Jackson's 7 straight seasons of 1000+ yards

Jackson's longevity on top of his production has to count for something. Priest Holmes was great for a short stretch, otherwise was just a flash in the pan compared to Jackson. As were most of those guys.
speaking of great OL's, Holmes' OL in Kansas City was pretty great. Waters, Roaf, Will Shields. John Tait.

quote:Definitely. He would've put up some big time numbers, imo.
I would have liked to have seen him in his prime on a good team though. He should have gotten the hell out of St Louis

Foster last year had 1800 yards and 12 tds in 13 games, thats at least equal with Jacksons best season(2006)

put him behind the lines that Priest Holmes, Shaun Alexander or Brian Westbrook ran behind and he would be an all time great.

I could be lost but I'm looking at Foster's stats and am not finding any season with those numbers

He would be up there if he didn't have to carry that shitty organization every year. He'd be incredible with a good oline
He's a top 20 talent to ever play rb IMO.
