According to multiple sources, Curry has already told USA Basketball he will not be playing for a gold medal. He will instead let his right knee heal.

Who takes his spot?

Smart man. He probably doesn't want to risk getting Zika either.

So Steph is out, CP3 is out, AD is out, Blake Griffin is out.

I'll go out on a limb and say that Lebron will opt out as well.

Obviously the question is if a guy like Durant plays, or if Carmelo plays. I think Carmelo might opt out, I suspect Durant does but I'll keep him in for now.

Team still can be good obviously but not looking quite as strong.

Westbrook/Wall/Lillard
Klay/Harden/Butler
Durant/Kawhi
Draymond/Kevin Love/Aldridge
Demarcus

Something like that.

I could see love resting too.

I wonder if a guy like Towns could find a way on the team.

he had a spot?

He hasn't been part of that clique...I think he would have been on the team for sure, but whoever said he was guaranteed? If he was a returning guy yeah maybe...but hes not

did Paul George opt out too?

i dont think Carmelo opts out. International basketball is pretty much all he has going for him.

Westbrook is rumored to be considering dropping cause of Zika

AD will not play. Surgery and all that. All those other guys won't play.

I really think Lebron, Durant, Carmelo decide not to.

It is possible that guys like Klay, Draymond, Kyrie, Love decide not to as well.

Then you are really, really dealing with a B level team.

There's going to be a lot drop out due to this....at least that'll be the excuse. Curious to see what roster they put together.

Not yet no. I was just debating on whether he would play or not.

If he wants to then he makes the team.

Klay. But just because I really want to see if he can hit 20 3s with the closer line.
