You may be right on the DL, but Shaw has pulled some highly ranked talent on the offensive line.

He was left a dumpster fire, and OSU and Michigan were playoff contenders. It would be ridiculous to hold it against him for a rough start against OSU and MSU his first few years, especially when he's beating almost everyone else.
No way he is close to being fired, but maybe if people grumble enough, he'll bolt for the NFL?

But are we just to ignore Jim Harbaugh was around when the San Diego program essentially started giving out scholarships, built it to two 11-1 seasons, goes to shitty Stanford, builds up to 12 wins, leaves for SF which hadn't done anything in years, goes to multiple Conference championships and was a play away from being Super Bowl champs as pure coincidence?

If there is something he lacks it isn't confidence in all his assertions.
I guess I should add that Michigan won 10 games or more 2 times from 2006 to 2014. Three times if you go back to 2003 and four times back to 1999. Harbaugh has won 10 games each season he's been there (2) and probably will win 10 again. Though I suppose you could argue extra games and such.

OL and DL are typically polar opposites in terms of intelligence and all that. 12guage (RIP) used to joke that an elite DT who is without any academic issues before his senior year is basically a unicorn. OL are often smart and do well in school and can handle going to a place like Stanford

ive always asserted JH is an above average coach. he is essentially lloyd carr without the wins over rivals
the problem is ESPN brainwashed everyone into thinking JH was Meyer or Saban, so we have threads such as this one

It really doesn't make a ton of sense but this is so true.
I guess O-linemen are a mix of size, smarts, and footwork.
D-line is either physical freaks or fat huge guys that can fill gaps/draw double teams.

Apart from Mark Gastineau and Howie Long and JJ Watt that's mostly true.

I would say he's an even douchier version of Rex Ryan.
He should have won multiple championships in San Francisco, but he couldn't help himself. He had to dump Alex Smith and mortgage the future on Kaepernick, and be a complete a-hole to everybody he worked for. I mean, they started their own dumpster fire rather than have him coach the team one more minute.

He saw more upside with Kaep. Not a big deal. Maybe they never would have gotten so close to winning that Super Bowl with Smith.
The problem at Mich is that his first stud QB recruit, only a redshirt freshman, must be a moron or something and can't find the field. That could bring down Harbaugh if he doesn't hit on a QB pronto. Only a few schools can be top five caliber without a stud. Stanford has been a bit of an exception there maintaining their level with a schizo guy like Hogan at the controls.
But, contrary to a point rocket has made before (Harbaugh can't develop QBs!), he had Kaep play at a high level, Jake Rudock went from garbage to very solid over the course of a season, and he had Hoke 3 star stopgap Speight playing well last year.

Harbaugh laid the foundation and realized success from his foundation, Shaw’s sustaining the level/expectation of excellence he started its analogous to asking whether the United States’ success as a nation under Jackson, Lincoln and Roosevelt mitigates what Washington, Madison and Jefferson accomplished which essentially equates to blasphemy
