I would, but I'm curious the MSB's opinion on skateboarders.

Definitely was the GOAT influence and ambassador of the sport. Not sure if he is the most talented ever. There's been a few since that progressed the sport further.

this. would be like calling someone else the GOAT at the 100m even tho they have a slower time than Usain Bolt

It's hard with the "extreme" or "alternative" sports. They aren't like regular sports with a static field/court and a set of rules. Skateboarding and other sports like bmx, freestyle moto and snowmachine, snowboarding, skiing, etc all depend on functions of technological advances with the equipment combined with people continuing to push their risk tolerances to higher limits based on how the advances in technology allow them to.
ETA: There's always going to be someone that will do it bigger and/or better.

as an ambassador, yes
but i'm sure there are several surfer/skaters, with fried brains, who could skate hawk out of the park.
back when it started to get big(late 80's), you had some really good skaters, who refused to sell out. they went away when the money and fame came. They did it for the fun, not to be the so called sell outs. And i'd bet several of them could skate with or out skate Hawk.

Skate boarding is not a sport. Stop listening to Sublime and go get a job.

Who are some others you would consider?
Bucky Lasek, Danny Way, Bob Burnquist, Rune Glifberg, and Pierre-Luc Gagnon are some that come to mind.

Rodney Mullen,Christian Hosoi,Danny Way, etc to name a few

Hawk is above the rest but you could make arguments for Bob B, Danny Way, and Tas Pappas

I don't know pretty much anything about skate boarding, but it seems like it is a pretty difficult sport to objectively measure. How do you say that one really hard trick is objectively harder than another?
Posted on 8/27/15 at 5:33 pm to Peazey
A better measure is looking at the timeline of when tricks were first performed. It's easy to see someone else do a new trick then imitate it compared to being the first. Some of these guys were doing flips and spins before some skate boarders knew you could even get a few feet of air off a vert ramp. Street is much harder to judge

When I was in middle school, me and my friends got into the skateboarding scene. We also listened to bands like Rancid, Minor Threat, Black Flag, and the Misfits. The older skaters hooked us up with beer and weed. That connection started getting us girls for the first time. Once when I was in 7th grade, I banged a 10th grade girl at a house party. I owe a lot to skateboarding.

Pretty sad on her part. She must've been a fatty. Or you raped a girl that was passed out drunk.

I always wondered if you get to be 40 and even though you are rich if you ever think, "Like that OSU coach said I am a grown-assed man so maybe I should get a grown-assed job."

Rodney Mullen shits on Hawk in terms of influence and skill. Hawk is one of the GOAT athlete/businessman however
Posted on 8/27/15 at 6:14 pm to VerlanderBEAST
Yeah, Rodney Mullen is a good one. Bad oversight on my part. He's cool. But those Tony Hawk video games, Dam Son.

Jay Adams was the GOAT
But Hawk and the rest of the Lords of Dogtown are all Goats
