That’s 100% his problem on Gameday. Just act like a normal human who likes college football & it’s okay to get excited every now and then.
On Gameday, it’s like anytime he speaks it’s gotta be the loudest & most energetic thing anyone says.

my question is how exactly do you fix the show.
I'd move Laura Rutledge and Tim Tebow onto GameDay from SEC Nation to start. The cast needs new blood and those two are both great on SEC Nation so they should be moved up to the main CFB show. Tebow has the star power and Rutledge has proven herself to the point they also have her doing NFL coverage.
Start going to locations they've never been FAR more often. Game of the day be damned stop going to the same locations every year. Ohio State w/23, Alabama w/17, Florida & LSU w/13 can all be taken out of the rotation for several years.
Instead, make the show a celebration about ALL of CFB. Illinois, Maryland, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia and California have never hosted. Go to those schools. IDGAF if they are the biggest game of the day or not. I want to see those locations.
Do a bunch of G5 locations as well. For example, while they have hosted 3 combined times, James Madison (2) and App State (1) have really cool small stadiums surrounded by gorgeous scenery. There must be more places that have cool settings and traditions that even hardcore CFB fans have never seen let alone the casuals.
These are the kinds of things I want to see as a CFB fan and I'm sure many others would too. The big time teams get enough coverage as it is already and their traditions have been shown a million times. How many more "dotting the I" packages do we really need?
Show me what a game day atmosphere is like at a school like Wyoming. Go walk the Boulevard at SMU (which honestly should happen for their first ACC home game). Set up shop at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium so we can all see a fanbase that shows out even though ECU has always been in a minor conference and is usually only average at best. Hell, ECU gets schools NC State, UNC and WVU to their place seemingly every other year. Go to one of those minor rivalry games.
GameDay is supposed to be a celebration of CFB. Lean hard into that instead of the current slobber fest for 15 or so blubloods, endless playoff vomit, cancer thons, and gambling bullshite it has become and people will start to come back.

I agree completely, but ESPN is so short-sighted and greedy. They don't want to trim the fat and take it in a new direction that's best for college football.
Too risky for the current media landscape with Disney possibly selling them off. The bluebloods draw the best ratings compared to mid-tier programs, therefore it's why they stick to them all the time.
I wish it wasn't that way, but that's their business model.
