He let his mouth overload his arse, and then acted unprofessionally in the postgame interview. but I don't think he's a bad guy-he does a lot for the community and his heart seems to be in the right place most of the time. He just needs to learn that you have to prove it on the field, and the Super Bowl is a whole other level of competition. He can use this as motivation, or he can let it get in his head. Up to him.

It has nothing to do with showing emotion. It's his overall behavior and attitude on and off the field. I don't know why Cam apologists can't understand this.

All this crap is just ESPN manufactured.

There is nothing wrong with Cam Newton...the guy carried Auburn to the title and carried his Panthers team.

He had a bad game and his team had a bad game too on offense - his D did their job.

He lost, was pissed - let it go.

So what you're trying to tell me is that in general, immature people don't have a problem with an immature person, but mature people have a problem with an immature person?

But when he wins he rubs it in his opponents face. Rememer the Titans defenders in the endzone?

I actually think Cam is a worse winner than he is a bad loser.

I'd rather players like Lynch, Sherman and Newton who say and do interesting things that are relatively harmless.

The "At least they aren't Aaron Hernandez" school of thought. A lot of people find the game of football to be intrinsically interesting and don't necessarily need the soap opera sideshows.

I like Cam because he pisses people off for no good reason and that is extremely entertaining.

Yep, I love the fact that people are up in arms over everything he does.

That's stupid.

im 48. I enjoyed the way Cam played this season. I have no problem with him on the field.

Now the way he acted after the loss Sunday was childish. And disappointing to see from a grown man.

But Im older and don't hate him in the NFL. At Auburn was a different story

Granted most of my friends cheer for other NFC south teams, none of us like him.

I'm much older and I think he's fine.
So basically it's the exact opposite of the OP's poll.
Seems we have a definitive answer.

Were you bothered when Peyton Manning left the field in 2010 after losing to Drew Brees in the SB?

Manning didn't shake Drew's hand

I'm 25 and he aggravates the piss out of me.

But as a Saints/LSU fan my hate is more the fact that my teams have played him every year since 2010.

It's more 'At least they aren't boring' argument. And you can find the game interesting and still enjoy the sideshow. It's a game, not a matter of life and death. They aren't mutually exclusive. I'm not sure why people take them so seriously. It's a game meant for enjoyment. Some people happen to enjoy getting up in arms about trivial bullshite, including writers and broadcasters who feed into the hysteria.
