Yes, they slowed it down even more. They still played deliberate offense the whole game. It's what they've done all year.
IMO you're trying to attach a narrative that didn't happen.
Unless UNC makes a holy shite miracle 3, Nova doesn't need that last shot. They did everything right except for NOT fouling up 3 with 6-8 seconds left on the game clock.

Whenever my team is down three, I hope they don't foul, so conversely, I would foul.

It's probably about the same. It's just if you foul, and lose, youre run out of town.
It's about 73.25% that their top 3 foul shooters make both free throws.
It's debatable what UNCs 3pt average in that situation since Nova knows they are gonna shoot a three.
