ESPN highlights referred to them as ULL. So war continues.

I went to ULL
It is ULL for frick's sake. It is not a huge important school like LSU. Anyone who thinks otherwise need to get the frick over it. We are 2nd class. And that is OK

No. Legally, it's University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin Cajuns.
From ULL's own website ( louisiana.edu ),
quote:
1999-present: University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL Lafayette)
quote:
For a while in the 1980s, UL Lafayette literally made a name for itself, The University of Louisiana. A subsequent act of the Louisiana Legislature nullified that name change, but Authment persisted.
Now for the real good stuff:
quote:
On September 10, 1999, his perseverance was rewarded when he walked onto a stage before an audience of alumni, visiting dignitaries, administrators, faculty, and students in the Cajundome. There, before several thousand people, with the blessing of the State of Louisiana, he signed an order that changed the university's name to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This monumental achievement occurs as part of UL Lafayette's Centennial Celebration.
So they tried to change their name and were smacked down. Then worked for 15 years and were happy to be change the name to University of Louisiana at Lafayette. How things change.

ULM beat Bama and Arkansas. They are the Louisiana champs until ULL does the same.

Also, an important skirmish in this war involves Schwartzy choosing a pharmacy school.

Yes.
By virtue of its baseball sweep of ULM, they have earned the right to represent Louisiana athletically and academically as THE University of Louisiana.

So has ULL officially won the Louisiana war?
No.
Anyone who calls them "UL" immediately loses my respect.

Athletics Nickname
Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns® is the nickname of the University’s athletic teams. Teams also may be referred to using shorter versions of that nickname. In most cases, Ragin’ Cajuns plural is proper, though Ragin’ Cajun in the singular form can apply.

LSU's legal name is Louisiana State University Agricultural and Mechanical College. Yet they utilize LSU and not LSU A&M for athletic purposes. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

United States Patent and Trademark Office recognizes us as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. I'm pretty sure they fall outside of "y'alls".

"Louisiana Ragin Cajuns" as a nickname is unobjectionable. The University of Louisiana-Lafayette Louisiana Ragin Cajuns.
They can be listed as Louisiana Ragin Cajuns on scoreboards and such with Warhawks, Tigers or Green Wave.
