This is so much better than the BCS.

To bolster its case, Baylor has hired a public relations firm to advocate for a spot in the playoff. An associate for Kevin Sullivan Communications said his firm was hired last week and has also been charged with setting up media interviews for McCaw.

Not surprised.

Many schools use PR firms.

Because that influenced the decision of non-sentient computers.

It's gonna be funny when K-State takes them out Saturday. I wonder what they'll do with this PR firm after that....

Briles won't say a damn word about the playoff until after the game on Saturday, assuming we win. He has avoided questions all season long and just sticks with the "ah shucks we got to worry about next weeks game. this weeks poll doesn't mean anything, the only thing that matters is the final poll". We don't get the national coverage that large state schools receive from the media, so I don't blame Baylor for doing so.

Just glad they are doing something instead of doing nothing. FWIW, I think we used a PR firm for RG3 Heisman season as well.

I'd argue that Bama, LSU, Oklahoma St all had PR firms working back in 2011.

We've used this firm multiple times over the past 4 years as our football program has taken off.

"We were simply hired by Baylor as extra media relations hand as has happened multiple times over last 4-yrs.We're just trying to set up some national interviews for (athletic director) Ian (McCaw)," Sullivan said. "It's media relations, that's all. "

The Big 12, One True Champion unless there's co-champs. Other than that, One True Champion.

Kirk Herbstreit just said that Baylor would have to win convincingly this weekend to jump TCU. I don't agree with that.

If Baylor beats K-State, which is a big "if", then they deserve the 4 spot. Why? Because they will have a more impressive win than Alabama, FSU, Oregon, TCU, or Ohio State. That can't be disputed. It's a freaking fact. To put Alabama, FSU, Oregon, and TCU ahead of Baylor just because they have better lossess is absolutely ridiculous to me.

this committee shite will become corrupted over a long enough time line... it's pretty inevitable, IMO... too much money to be had for programs not to throw a little juice at some members of the committee to nudge them in the right direction...

If you believe this is about media relations, you are delusional.

Baylor is trying to get a spot they don't deserve. Baylor and Oregon need to lobby to play for the NCAA 7-on-7 championship, because that's all either of you would ever have a shot at winning.

Good for them. Schools do this with players in the Heisman conversation all the time. There's no way TCU should get in ahead of them.

They could have easily solved this debate if they didn't lose to West Virginia. If you don't like it, then you shouldn't have lost.

Dumb logic when there's only one undefeated team.

Agreed. You can't get screwed unless you get left out after an undefeated season. Same as boxing, leave it in the hands of the judges and it may not go how you hope it will.
