Oh and so much for Nunez

Eduardo Nunez, who not so long ago was viewed by many people as the Yankees’ heir apparent to Derek Jeter, has been designated for assignment.

He was soooooo bad tonight. Legitimately can barely touch 90, and was just throwing meat up in the zone early. Could have easily been 8-0 after two.

Bats were quiet early on, but it was good to see everyone get involved in the later innings. Ellsbury hit some balls hard despite not getting a hit. Jeter, Beltran, McCann, and Teixeira all hit safely. Tex especially looked good.

Soriano's GIDP in the 8th was a killer. Oh well.

The pen was fun to watch tonight. Betances looked awesome. He was bringing it and the Astro hitters had no chance. Off-speed stuff was good looking too.

Hopefully since we have some good starters throwing the next two games we can get a couple Ws.

That's a bummer. I guess this was sort of their thought process all along. No chance he clears waivers.

They love him in clubhouse, so it'll be sad to see him go. Oh well.

CC wasn't bad after the second inning, pitched 4 more and looked decent but it is obvious he isn't a #1 anymore. I don't think he touched 92 all night

He was shaky in the 3rd, at best. Just didn't allow any runs.

They really need Tanaka to be awesome. And Nova to look like he did at the end of last season.
