I'll do my best to give a short preview of our squad...

1. Dexter Fowler CF-appears a change of scenery has done Dex good. He had a really good spring and will be a solid defensive upgrade as well as provide a legitimate lead off threat.

2. Robbie Grossman LF-Robbie absolutely raked this spring...so much so that he bumped himself into the 2 hole, which was thought all along to belong to Altuve.

3. Jose Altuve 2B-solid little ball player but often inconsistent and really doesn't belong in the 3 hole, but we don't have anybody better for this slot. Former all star.

4. Jason Castro C-as our all star from last year, Jason really came into his own last season. We're all expect in him to continue his upswing this season and provide solid middle of the order at bats.

5. Jesus Guzman 1B- Guz will be platooning with Marc Krauss depending on righty/lefty. Acquired from the Padres, hopefully the change of scenery will do him good long enough until we call up Jon Singleton.

6. Chris Carter DH-Ol' Whiff Carter...you know what you will get with this guy. He's as close to Pedro Cerrano as you can get. He will K or hit a bomb. Very little in between for this guy.

7. Matt Dominguez 3B-Matty D will be expected to continue his offensive breakout. He didn't hit for that great of an average last season, but he provided some timely hits and was 2nd on the team in HR's. At 23 years old, He's an above average fielder though and mans the hot corner well. He's my favorite player on the squad.

8. LJ Hoes RF-this guy is just taking up a roster spot until we call up Springer. Not much more to say.

9. Jonathan Villar SS-Villar is definitely quick. Will be lightning fast on the base path...if he can get on base. Again, only 23 years old, he's got a less than average glove and is playing on potential alone, as we really have nobody else to play SS.

Hope this helps.

Awesome! You can take want you want out of my OP. The big thing the Yanks will be looking for is how CC will do with less velocity. If he can't be better than he was last season, it's going to get awkward really quick.

Of course, everyone will be looking to see how Jeter does after a not-so-hot spring. As well as Teixeira coming off an injury-plagued 2013 season.

Will definitely have some defensive issues all over the field, but guys like Teixeira, Gardner, and Ellsbury (if healthy) can make up for that some.

He fields with his glove on his elbow instead of his hand.

That's generous. Less than average would be an improvement for him,

Our biggest gaping holes are the back end of our rotation (4&5), our corner outfielders, shortstop and 1B.

Hopefully once Singleton & Springer are up in June, we can put a patch on the 1B and corner outfield.

At SS, looks like we are stuck with Villar, which I'm cool with. He's young and he needs to play.

The back end of our rotation will be a revolving door with our long relievers. Lucas Harrell and Dallas Keuchel will most likely move to the bullpen to allow guys like Alex White, Asher Wojochowski and Jerome Williams to get some starts.

In my opinion, all of those guys with the exception of Keuchel, are revolving doors that will eventually give way to our top prospects

Tex already saying he isn't 100% comfortable with his swing, I could see him going on the 15 day DL soon

Do you know the plan if Teixeira can't play 1st? Where does that put everyone?

Well Nunez would be called back up to the team and McCann/K. Johnson would man first with Nunez/Cervelli in the field. Yankees also have guy named Dean Anna on 40 man roster who could play 3B/1B. Other than that would mean bringing someone up which would be a real possibility depending on severity of that wrist.

My brother is going and super pumped. He's in Houston on his birthday (today) starting treatment at MD Anderson. Jealous he's going, but glad he loves the game as much as me and can have a little break.

I mean I would think the guys who they kept on the roster ahead of Nunez would play over Nunez in this scenario.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure they are gonna use him as the backup shortstop while Brendan Ryan is out. I didn't think they were planning on using him too much at 3B.

Cano just legged out a double on a ball that never got within 30 feet of the warning track.

Never saw that in NY.
