SJW melting over Tom Bradys' relationship with Trump

I really don't understand when SI.com became a political hack website. Attacking someone because of their political views because he is one of the biggest, or the biggest star in the NFL. Maybe they should stick to writing about sports, and leave personal political views of athletes out of it.
quote:
Except we’re not talking about any pedestrian friendship—this is a divisive incoming president who continues to strategically use his relationship with the Patriots, and Brady in particular, as an asset.
quote:
So when Brady openly promotes his support of the man who just inspired over three million viscerally angry people around the world to protest his presidency, that matters.
quote:
Beyond being his own brand, Brady is the face of a league that has been archaic in its approach to enacting policies respectful to women. The notion that Brady might accept some of Trump’s gender-damning actions (including that thing that started a feline-inspired hat industry) is disheartening.

Yes because no other divisive president has ever used relationships with athletes or famous people to gain favor

No it really doesn't. Are those that support Trump just supposed to say nothing? Are you going to write a hit piece on those athletes that openly oppose him?

WTF kind of bullshite hack crap is this? Nothing like prjecting beliefs on someone. What a POS article

Brady said he's friends with Trump, he clarified Monday that he doesn't necessarily agree with what he's sad or done

So when Brady knowingly likes things, and people, we pay attention. Typically Brady’s preferences are either wildly loved or mocked. The “Make America Great Again” hat seen hanging in his locker in September 2015 certainly falls among the latter.
Another example of This is Why You Got Trump. Just so dismissive.
ETA: Just finished reading... that is an "article" that belongs on deadspin/gawker. Not Sports Illustrated. I'm sure Peter King's head was nodding as he read it though.

I'm waiting for the angry hit piece about Lebron's politics from SI.

How does Bill Simmons feel about all of this? This has to be tough for him.

You'll be waiting a long time. No writer wants to be labeled as racist for questioning James' political leanings

Well Lebron never hid his politics, but he also didn't have to hide them. He was lauded for openly campaigning for Hillary, meanwhile other athletes like Brady and Roethlisberger were skewered at the slightest indication that they supported Trump.

You won't find me in many threads supporting Trump. But where the frick does this woman get off writing a bland think-piece on who she deems as a quality friend? Jesus tapdancing Christ.
You don't approve of a relationship? That's fine. That's also none of your fricking business. Obama was one of the most divisive presidents in modern memory. I don't remember any op-eds about slamming his celeb friends because he wasn't universally liked.

No kidding. I'm not 100% trump for life but the more people continue with the fricking whining about him being president the more i lean towards giving him support. It's like they completely forgot he was running against a truly evil woman.

I think this all started when Tom Brady had the MAGA hat in his locker. He's never been openly political about anything. So I think that opened the floodgates on this topic.

Well, that settles it. I'm no longer on the fence about Brady or the Patriots.
GO PATRIOTS.
GO PATRIOTS.

Oh look, they're trolling for clicks. Not clicking. #MAGA

He didn't but Trump name dropped him as a potential speaker at the RNC
