I def would not worry about Magic Man, and just say 2 rock solid starting QBs from 91 till now.

Steve young replacing Joe Montana
Way too early, but possibly Luck replacing Manning.

I think you mean pro bowl. Peyton was all-pro 5 times in Indy and Luck has yet to be. If you are counting second team, that still just brings us to 8.

I always forget about these two for some reason. I guess I don't think as highly of Young's career as others do.

Young's was only the starter for 8 seasons and missed most of his first season in 1991 and at least 5 games in 1995. But in those 8 seasons, he was league MVP twice and nearly a third time. He led the league in passer rating a record 6 times. And he had the single greatest performance in super bowl history, throwing 6 td's. Oh, and he set, and still holds, the NFL record for career QB rushing TD's. In 1994, he threw for 35 TD's against 10 int's and ran for another 7 TD's. If he had a 15 year career, he would be in the GOAT discussion.

Barring injury, the Colts will end up with a nice little run

The Colts had the #1 pick for arguably the best 3 QB prospects of the last 35 years. Elway, Manning and Luck

He started 10 and played in 11 games in 1991 missing 6 of 16 is not "most". He started 11 games in 95.

Vick started a change in the way the QB position is seen and played. I do think he has a chance to get in for that. QB was about drop back and stand in the pocket before Vick. Now athleticism and mobility are valued in the position

For some reason I thought he missed most of 1991. Either way, doesn't change my main point. I'll take it a step further. Baseball does a black and a grey test when assessing HOF candidates. Black test means you lead a key category in a given year and grey test means you were top 5 in a given year. When you apply that test to NFL QB's, Steve young dominates the grey test, even beating Joe Montana handily. He was as dominant in his 8 seasons at QB as any QB ever was.

Luck replacing Manning

Does the injury year count with Indy's horrid QBs?

Randall Cunningham played long before Vick

Randall Cunningham and Steve a Young say hello. Vick did not revolutionize the position. If anyone did, it was Cunningham.

i was confusing the 2 posts, yours with the guy that said he wasn't impressed with Youngs career. I agree Young was awesome and probably should get more credit when discussing all-time greats. He had 2 pieces of "bad luck" in replacing a legend and running into the Cowboy dynasty.

Manning and Luck.

The Colts will basically have two starting quarterbacks in a thirty year span, and both could end up being all-time greats.

Hogeboom started when White was still at Dallas.

It was Steve Pelluer and Kevin Sweeney between White and Aikman. I want to say Reggie Collier also started at times. Dallas had a terrible team with Landry the last two years.
