I'm not going to crunch the numbers, but it seems like the Cavs will basically be forced to consider Love or TT, Shump, and JR (or possibly just TT and Shump/JR).

I'm becoming more and more open to just letting Love go. TT has absolutely beasted this postseason and I really haven't liked what Blatt has done with Love. He needs to be used more down low. LeBron and his game clash too much.

I just think it's going to be in both parties best interest to walk.

Shump and JR aren't going anywhere but yes let Love go and sign a decent small forward. They will have TT, Mozgov, and Varejao for big men next year.

Just think you could have had wiggins on a rookie contract instead...

If the Cavs let Love walk, then giving up Wiggins for a partial season of Kevin Love may very well go down as one of the dumbest moves in the history of the NBA

I keep forgetting about Varejao. I love the guy, but he's not worth what they extended him for. Guy is made of glass.

You were telling me in the game thread that Love was a huge loss.

He is, especially considering how well they played down the stretch with all big 3 healthy,

I just don't think Love is worth the money with what TT, Shump, and JR can provide at a lower rate.

Yeah trading Wiggins for Love will be incredibly stupid if Love walks; however, they would probably still get something out of the deal helping a team sign Love.

They should try to bring Love back because he is still an awesome player unless someone gives up something stupid to facilitate him signing in a location.

You never let some one like love go, to keep role players

If you let love go, you better find another semi-star on his level to replace him.

I don't think he will want to resign though. He's got his eyes set on a big city

They need to get rid of Varejao. He's useless.

Would the Lakers give up their pick to get Love the bigger max contract?

After wathing love play with the Olympic team was when I finally realized he was overrated. It's a damn shame they gave up wiggins to get him. Love won't be worth the amount of money he will end up commanding, and I feel like you can find someone to fill his void.

Now, all that said, he's still a very good player and the cavs have no shot at winning it all this season without him. I just wish hey held on to wiggins and never made the trade.

He we opt in next year. He isn't signing a contract somewhere else a year before max contracts are raised.

I reaaaaaally think Love was trying to hide back issues this season because of a contract year. I forget the numbers, but his stats with only a day of rest were horrific compared to when he had more. He looked like an old man running up and down the court at times.

Also all further trade negotiations later in the season would have been affected by having Wiggins on the roster. It might have prevented them from making the other moves considering the trade partner demands.

Love has a player option
I predict he comes back
Maybe they trade him next year if he won't sign an extension
