unless it's actually inclement weather? What's the point if you never open the damn thing?

Should be whatever the taxpayers getting fleeced on the thing want it to be while attending a game.

What do you consider inclement weather? Unless the temp is between 60-75° and sunny, I want it closed.

I agree that they should open the roof more.

In Houston, the weather is often perfect in the fall for football. Often in the 60's. It's 65 degrees right now here in Houston.

Yet they rarely open the roof. I can only remember a few times total that they've opened it since the stadium has opened.

If I remember correctly, NRG has a 60-80 rule. The temperature has to be between those degrees to be open. Considering the temperature won't drop below 80 during the middle of the day until November usually, that doesn't leave much room for open roof games.

Hell NO.

I dont want to sit in Minute Maid Park with the roof open and no AC when its 97 degrees outside.

NRG it is a waste.

The plan for tomorrow I heard was for it to be closed. Weather tomorrow to be perfect. Just stupid.

Our grass WAS on trays and not even left on field. Now we finally got field turf.

Makes no sense.

i like how you're posting all those bad weather games, but that Kellen Winslow moment was in the Orange Bowl in Miami, January 1982 I think?

Miami in Jan. is still hot and humid. That's the point, it wore the Chargers out. They stood no chance the next week in Cincy.

Closed roof = louder
Louder = better home field advantage

I think the Texans want every advantage they can get tomorrow. They don't care that the weather is nice and the fans might enjoy the roof open.

It's more to do with the fans not wanting to sit in adverse weather conditions to watch the game.

Teams with domes/stadiums with roofs have the coddled fans.

Well currently it is winter. And the regular season is over. And it certainly isn't in the 60's most of the NFL season in Houston.

I'm not sure where you're getting your weather, but it's not the Houston I know.

Exactly why I will likely not attend any games in Atlanta when they open the new dome. I refuse to sit inside on a beautiful fall afternoon.

There is no need for a dome in Atlanta except for 1-2 games per year.

I plan on going to Jags games instead.

I get that, no problem. But they just should have saved $50M in taxpayer money and built a fixed roof to begin with. It's not like it was a big secret that enclosed stadiums were louder. But apparently they didn't think of that before building it.

Candy-arse fans should stay at home & watch it on tv. Now get off my lawn.

All stadiums should be open air. Football is an outdoor sport.
