Fwiw, that's actually not usually the case.

But Sharpe is spot on here.

I get what you're saying - no sane person wants Peyton over Brady to QB their team in 2016 for instance - but I actually find it funny that people are so finicky in their views of the legacies of long-time veterans that a miserable game by both QBs on Sunday changed their mind. To put it another way, Manning has played in 292 games and Brady has played in 256 games, yet people seemed to be swayed by the outcome of the game Sunday. That is ridiculous.
And this is why the rings are overrated.

Meh - I don't put too much thought into what Sharpe has to say.

Brady wins more games. Period. He's in the big games more and he comes through more than not. Last week he was hit close to a quarter of 100 times. Think about that...and he still had the game capable of going into OT (kicker doesn't shank the first kick or convert the 2-pt).

Peyton hangs on by the skin of his teeth after doing little to nothing in the second half and all of a sudden he's back on top? Nah, sorry. That doesn't work for me. Peyton couldn't even convert first downs to seal the game. Denver's defense won that one fair and square.

Also, let's not forget that they've played a grand total of 5 times in AFC Championship games (3-2 advantage Manning). That one win anchored by the Denver defense is the deciding factor?

In my eyes, this one win doesn't trump Brady's 11-6 head to head record or Brady's four Superbowls (4-2 record) compared to Peyton's one Superbowl (1-3/2-2 record).

You can't simultaneously defer blame away from Brady AND undermine Manning in the same breath.

You bring up the head to head while making excuses for Brady's loss Sunday.

I really don't care who people prefer, I just enjoy making a mockery of team accomplishments being used to judge individuals in a sport with 22 starters.

Because he's consistently had a defense that afford to keep him in those games.

Brady won a superbowl with 145 yards passing.

The patriots defense was ranked #1,#2, and #6 in the nfl during his 1st 3 SBS wins.

Someone link the interview with Bill Burr from a couple weeks ago. Burr puts him in his place a few times as well. Cowherd gets pretty uncomfortable, and it's all around funny as hell.

And Kristine Leahy(sp) is a goddess.

Really? I would agree with not always the case, but not usually? What specific instances have fans or journalists known more than former players?

She is so fine and seems cool. Genius move putting her on. I watch cowherd everyday. Southern man hates him but he's got a pretty good format now.

That's probably because everything you wrote after is exactly the point he was making.

Right?

They had the article from a few years ago comparing the top QBs and their defenses.

Brady averaged around a top 10 scoring and total defense.

Want to say Manning's was in the 14-16 range.

Brees was in the 19-21 range, and that has only gotten worse.
