This might be one of the absolutely worst coaching decisions in college football history. At the NCAA level, this is well under a 50-50% proposition. How do you not call some plays with a stud QB?

You knew what was going to happen when he ran that awful run call after the big Stroud run.

Was just pathetic and scared when you thrashed them all game.

They threw the ball on 2nd and 3rd down.

A screen pass on the play before the kick would have won them the game.

Outsmarted himself on that run.

At least center the ball to give your kicker a fighting chance

That run call destroyed all their momentum.

After the ugly call and with more pressure. They should have never ran on that 1st down.

You can count on death, taxes, and Ryan Day stepping on his dick.

Scholarship kickers should make 50 yard kicks. 54 is about threshold, 58 is tough…52 is a make if you recruited a kicker.

He threw twice in a row, this thread is dumb. The criticism should come for punting on 4th and 1 with like a 8 min left in the game.

I 100% knew he wasn't making that. After Georgia called the TO they panned over to the kicker and you could tell by his face he was scared shitless. Which was a shame considering Ohio State looked to be better and should have won. College kickers leave a lot to be desired.

They do make those kicks, just a lower percentage than shorter kicks.

This isn’t rocket surgery.

Though, I’m sure YOUR kid will make all of his 50 yard kicks at his P5 school and win the Groza every year.

The run on 1st down made no sense. Stroud had thrown the ball well all game. Go get another 10-15 yards for your kicker.

Have statistics to back up this is the norm?

Cade York is a pro and is just over 50% at 50+.

They had plenty of time to pick up 10 or 15 more and put the kicker in a better situation.

Wasnt even that. I think they said that kicker was 2 of 7 beyond 50 this year (or maybe carreer)?

Everyone thinks even College kickers can routinely hit 50 yarders..Colleges have been trotting out guys for close to 60 yards..."oh he has the leg." Nevermind the pressure.
