Don't think Arizona will drop enough games to completely fall out of playoff contention?

SF or Seattle...which one of these good teams is going to get snubbed from the post-season?

Both.

If either makes it, I think it's Seattle.

More importantly, when N.O. Saints get in with a worse record, will the NFL make a rule change to "Correct" that injustice for future seasons?

Second on the docket behind "no PI on a second half hail mary".

Nope (and they shouldn't). Not a good idea to "lock out" a division winner no matter how putrid they are.

Seahawks have a hell of a schedule.

@ KC
vs Arizona
@ Niners
@ Eagles
vs Niners
@ Arizona
vs Rams

it also sucks that a team with a much better record can get screwed out the playoffs because of a 7-9 or 8-8 division winner. I guess there is no perfect solution unless you remove divisions completely but that won't happen

Well, they have a better chance against Arizona with Palmer done for the season. Can the Eagles keep it up? Who knows. The rest of their schedule is either brutal or easier than we think.

Yall do realize this exact thing happened a few years ago when Seattle made the playoffs at 7-9?

Same thing will happen this year. Not shite.

Top 3 division winners in conference + top 3 wildcards from either conference. Solves more problems than it creates, specifically the chances that some 8-8/7-9 clusterfrick gets home advantage against a team with a legitimate SB shot.

I've always been an advocate of re-thinking the qualification for postseason play though.

They should re-seed the playoffs and the home games should be solely based on record.

I guarantee they will do that after this year if the Saints make the playoffs at 7-9 or 8-8, host a home game and win it.

The Saints were screwed in 2010 when they had to travel to play a 7-9 Seattle team.

It looks like that will be the case this year, except the shoe is on the other foot.

Only one NFC West team will make the playoffs IMO.

Can't really tell who it will be. I think Arizona will drop several games. The Seahawks and 49ers are both dealing with a lot of injuries. I still think those two have two of the top five rosters in the NFL when healthy. There is only so much depth you can build with a 53 limit.

If they did that, it would show an ACTUAL anti-Saints bias from the NFL, since the competition committee and owners don't meet until after the Superbowl for rules/structure changes.

I'm not going to lie. I don't have a problem with the current playoff format.

Nobody gets snubbed. If you don't earn your way in, then you're not in.
