What a joke... I doubt he has a problem.. He just made a random mistake and USC is treating him like a puppet saying "No treatment" No job...... If he doesn't go for the right reasons he will get nothing out of it and either will the school..........

Unfortunately, the dialogue and approach towards recreational drug and alcohol use has come to this. Even though it's only an isolated incident, society places pressure on you to admit you have a problem whether you have one or not

They're Hollywood. They are doing what Hollywood does:

1. Apologize Publicly
2. Rehab
3. Go back to your job as if nothing happened
4. Rinse and Repeat

Even if someone has no real substance abuse issues, they blame it on a fake one and it takes the heat off of them and makes people feel sorry for them. Undermines people with actual substance abuse issues IMO. Not as drastic as this, but its similar to a bunch of women falsely claiming rape. Undermines actual rape victims.

ETA:

And its a cop-out to push responsibility onto a "disease" that don't fricking have. You're just a drunk a-hole or at the least an a-hole when you're drunk. I know several people that are awful when they're drunk (mainly women) but don't have substance abuse issues.

They should treat his immaturity and not some made up disease. Dude is a noob some times. He told a dildo joke to one of the parents of a player and barked out that Oregon, ASU and ND suck. Sounds 13 to me. Alcohol or not, sounds like he needs to grow up a little bit.

Treatment or no treatment, his leash is pretty short right now. If he doesn't win soon and win big (at least 10 games this season) he's done.

I have two buddies who become complete assholes when they're drunk (blackout). One of them is so different that we have a separate name for him. But neither of these guys are even close to an alcoholic.

I really don't trust both of Mora and Sark to deliver this year. Both of them are holding back the talent on the team. Graham is going to take advantage, imo.

That's horrible, if true.

I personally would hate to black out when I drink. If you consistently black out and rage, that's a problem and you can label it what you will. If that were my behavior, I'd try to put a stop to it.

I'm 27 and go out with my friends and drink heavily about once a weekend. Usually I black out a little, but these days it doesn't take much for my memory to get foggy

I'm recently married, and have no kids FWIW. Majority of our friends are single and we all live near downtown in the city. We've slowed down and will continue to slow down though until we have kids and then we'll just swallow the fact our lives are different.

ETA:

But I don't drink heavily but 1 night a week usually unless I have college buddies visiting or something. My hangovers are just too damn bad now.

I don't have a problem because I can stop whenever I want (and have for weeks at a time several times for different reasons). I assume Sark can stop whenever he wants as well, but I guess we don't know that for sure.

I did my fair share of binge drinking in my early twenties. So, I am by no means a saint. However, I didn't pick fights or become lecherous with the women. It's more the behavior change when drunk that is concerning. People who get angry are asking to wake up in the hospital.

I personally can't drink that much anymore because my body is not very tolerant. I can have a headache the next day with three glasses of wine. It's just no worth it.

I should clarify that these guys don't do it constantly. Probably 3 or 4 times each since I've known them (5 or 6 years).

I've never blacked out, so it's hard for me to understand what the hell is going on. But it's very obvious when these guys are at that point.

Pat Haden should be held accountable for hiring a drunken Sarkisian off of Washington's hands simply because he rode Pete Carroll's coat tails. He also hired Andy Enfield after one miracle run at FGCU, and SC's basketball program is an embarrassment with 5 conference wins in 2 years. Haden is a terrible AD.
